Things are moving fast in this part of the world. The vacation saw 3 people get commited. The insight technical guy who committed into marriage, this year's vital committee Cordinator and the CTS girl who is leaving for the states this month, in engagement . Wow! We seem to be faster than our senies. Congrats guys! :)
The moon flower boy of f10 has come out about his girl finally. Pics can be found on facebook for the curious ones. Seems the story is 7 years long...
(F09 is also catching up. Marriages are happening left right center.)

Meanwhile, the celebrations are at a swing this time of the year.
Junies had chrispops and chrismoms who made each other's Christmas and New year special for them. Gifts and tasks were exchanged and given to everyone. Seems they are already practicing to give tasks to the F12 batch coming. :P
The postponed Libarated on 21st of the month. Although the theme is the same, the excitement seems to have died down. Organizers listening? Will that 70s night be black and white?
Pongal celebrations unlike last year, due to time constraints, is only for half a day this year and the "Pongal boys" have taken it onto themselves to make it a big success.
The ELA [extra liba activities] organizer has taken up yet another program for our social initiative wing. This time a lot of trees are going to get planted and taken care of.
The cocoon is getting ready again to slowly transform into the butterfly. It is that time of the year again. A group of enthusiastic ones are working on both online and offline events this year.

The couple formation is still in vogue.

The cat eyed girl is seen spending a lot of time with a guy. Even thoug they maintain they are just friends, the smile after that could mean something else.
The 'knight rider' (or so he would like to be called here) made a small scene on facebook saying it was finally official with the 'american indian babe' in his own words. People wondered if his lady friend was an american indian by any chance.
And the "blue legged" girl of past also seems to be going on steady with her beau.
There are other couples who are lying low to come out at the right moment. Keep guessing who!
And as the 2nd year is coming to an end, the serious couples are seen hanging out together literally all the time. Good luck to them. :)
There is certain 'milkybarish' tendency to some of the conversations that happen around. Wondering if the milkybars sold these days are crushed!
A certain outsider was seen touring the campus with the 'tamil cry baby' recently. "Just friends" reply seems to be the only thing other than smiles that she could give when pandora inquired about it.
The 'baby' seems to have a crush on somebody in the batch. But somehow, teasings were taken in stride by both of them. So, it could either be a yes or no. :P

The KD of F10 seems to have decided not to go for the exchange program because he didnt think spending money for it was worth it. He should have let the other students try and get through who would have gone for sure. And the other one has already left. She is Delhi for a week for the VISA processing and stuff.

The exchange students are already here for the sem. These bunch are from again france, germany and mexico. There seems to be a buzz in the ladies' lot of liba about one of the exchange students. He is considered cute and worth a shot by a lot of girls here. The committed ones, please hold onto your girlfriends tight :P

On a lighter note, Anybody Interested? :P

The graceful lady is back from her Yatra. Her yatra is supposed to have made a big impact on her life. She met entrepreneurs and even people who had quit secure jobs to do community service for life. Hope our some of our junies go next year and have fun and gain exposure.

The Mother Teresa Award function saw 6 corporate teams presenting. CTS, HPCL, Hindustan Zinc, MARG were among the teams. The student jury had 'father', the chery girl, the vedanta boy and the robin bird.

One of our lady faculty -Guess who!-has let her hair down literally this year. Students were surprised at this sudden style change. Most of them are still trying to figure out the reason for this style change. Any guesses or revelations?

The ladies hostel is finally blessed with LAN and that is thoroughly 'exploited' by the inmates. Wonder if the establishment and other charges, when they finally come, will make casualty admissions in nearby hospitals for fainting.
F10 has also decided to enjoy the last 3 months thoroughly. Beach parties, ladies' nights, outings... Most of us would be students for the last time in our lives.

And like an online year book,
Pandora will soon start a profiling of the 10-12 batch in the blog so that the batch, world and our alumni can come to know about the batch better. A lot of our batchmates have businesses running and awards that never were given much PR. I think it would be great if we knew each others' strengths better before we leave. And it would certainly be a good platform for you to promote yourself ;)

Btw, Pandora has finally found a successor who will write a guest post soon. Wait for it.. :)

Gossips + Events + Super Seniors + The Hunt!

The Vital committee member with a British accent has been trying on one of the exchange students for so long. Calling her for Pondy trips asking out.. But my reporters tell me that he has had no luck yet. But then, he does not seem to be the one to give up. Keep trying ;)

The precious stone girl is seen hanging around in the campus and outside it with a certain junior, most evenings. Coffees and Nescafes.. Has Obama been left out?
No. Obama is seen hanging around with the Musk Deer. But Musk Deer claims that he is just a good friend. So both the precious stone and Obama on different roads now?

Liberation has been postponed due the love affair between the circle and rain. :( It is said that events organized by the circle is jinxed with a curse from the rain. Incidentally, girls of LIBA has given '33%' reservation to guys in 'talking nonstop' event. While 2 girls took away the first and second places, third was given to a guy. ;) But the celebration went into the form of liberation in rain. After all the noise they[we] made at the OAT, a visiting faculty was seen dialing the authorities' number. This sent all of those who were liberated, running for cover. But yeah, liberated or not, we celebrated :)
So, the Circle members informed it will be in early January.

Well, the one who wrote here before me previous Dr. Love, went and silently got himself engaged. Out of the blue, FB carried his Roka pics and then the engagement pics. Yours truly interviewed him for a juicy gossip only to find that it was pakka arranged marriage. :( November 6th is the engagement and next year would see them getting married. After all those gossips he wrote about everybody, we could not find him putting the toe out of line.
The lady Love who is going to decorate his heart, designs interiors and is his Fate from now on. ;) Well, best wishes for your love filled life Dr. Love! ;)
Incidentally, someone's, [who was his best friend all through the life in LIBA,] likes and comments were present in absentia all the way. Go find who! :P

The biggest event of campus was a success this year too. Core team was seen running around on phones and teams to get things done. Good work and Insight team! Cheerz!
The 'Numbers People' of campus had their share of glory when their conclave found space in the pages of major newspapers. The noted point was that, it was a ladies' army leading the clan.
Espire prelims happened today and was organized by the Ecell of the college. This time, we see more initiative from the juniors' side. The next rounds as usual will happen soon with TieCon.
The mindfulness of leadership is also on the way. The Exec Lady is taking care of that event. We do have a lot of events happening all through the sem eh! :) This year’s theme is Eco-Innovation: Time to Wake Up!

The One in the four of the 'Mallu gang' who has a secure future, was found family planning, some days after securing it. :P How many years till marriage, till this... till that.. He is all set for future it seems. ;) What when how why...

The search [rather hunt] for the Pandora of 2012 has begun. The stage is all set. People who are interested to carry on the legacy, mail me an exclusive scoop which portrays your creati-witty, humor and nose-for-news skills. :) The hunt has begun! Beware of repercussions of writing here btw :P

I know you are saying 'Long time no see'. But yeah, writers' block. :D

So, here goes!

Gossips

Reports were confirmed that Ted talks has asked an ex student cum entrepreneur to speak for a whole 18 minutes' duration and the video will be available on Ted talks from next month. For people who didnt still get who he is, the one who slept and wanted to be called a biatch.

The common room sees some couples [ those that have publicly confirmed and those that deny anything put forward ] during the day and evenings studying 'seriously'. During and without exams, this pattern has been observed by many a reporter. Wonder when there will be more for Dr. Love to talk about from the common room. ;)

The blue legged girl of past, and her 'politically ex' we[a]re seen together in classes these days. When inquired about whether they have gotten back together again, the guy decided to wonder why he should tell anyone if something is there. But the lady made a statement that it was not him and someone serious this time around. And for the readers from Dr. Love, the guy is off campus. ;)

The super senior pair, mallu boy and the hyderabadi biriyani, by the latest update have drifted apart.

The junior 'end of the night' [as many of the batch mates identify him] and the junie girl apparently have drifted away from each other. This change was visible after the recent long vacation. The foreigner seems to have lost interest and so has the girl. Or was it just a communication gap?

The Washington boys are having a hell of a time now. Incidentally, the JLL intern was gifted something really controversial before leaving by his friends aka the 6 packer and the tall one. Go figure! :P

The 'official' photographer was seen sporting hickeys some time back. He still has not divulged who is responsible for it. Neither did he try to defend when asked if it could be an insect bite. My reporters contemplate that it could be a junie [from the lot he frequently interacts with] who is responsible. :P

The financial controller of the student firm, is still recuperating from her rendezvous at the hospital. She will not be participating in the fashion show of the liberation movement of the campus this year to the disappointment of the senies. She is consoling herself being the coordinator of the event this year. Apparently, there is a run for money when comes to leg injuries and girls at our college.

Events
The biggest event of the campus was decided to be cut short to a 'single happening day' by the guides with insight. Although this will cut out the final celebration time too, as declared by the father of the event, when asked about the final hulahoo. Lets see the 'brighter' side. No expenses for 'celebrations' this time around. Lets all just celebrate BOP.

The liberation of both the batches are set to happen this weekend. The junies seem to spend time during evenings to practice. Good going guys :) And all the best.

The Diwali this year saw celebrations starting with a Pooja and crackers. Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the celebrations. The girl with the track record of being burnt every time she went anywhere near a cracker, this time chose to stay far and watch. With a leg injury [and a blue plaster], she was anyways not going to be in a position to run around with things. As usual, the Phoenix bird was her helping hand shooing away trespassers with crackers. For those who didnt notice, the bird and her had a short period of 'misunderstanding' and the bird had hanging around with the tattoo girl and 'the circle' head. The pair soon made up the differences though and are back together. All izz well!

The Diwali celebrations also saw the two Rs make up their 'differences' as informed by one of my reporters. For those who missed the bus, they had their differences for some time. Now, all izz well again or so it seems.

During Onam celebrations, more names of guys came up than some of the lady nominees for the manka competition. Yours truly had some 300 nominations to filter from, obviously spam included. One of the junies confided that he was sitting and punching in one name for like a 100 times. Crushes could make people do things eh? :)

The God's call this year found some 'ungodly' people attending it. Apparently talking while someone else talking [the usual communication problem] infuriated the messenger. This in turn resulted in some very 'visionary' FB statuses. The story goes that, most of those 'ungodly' ones have decided not to attend any more of those calls.

Obama received a gift from the precious stone [like last year] and he wore it two days later, to affirm he liked the gift. Well, are they back together? Or is it 'just friends' again? :P Dr. Love does nt think its just friends. Obama's budday songs this time were all sung with three girls' names in it. The precious stone was one of them.

The tall guy confronted Pandora one day recently, asking her 'why did you take a pic of my diary?', about the pic in the previous post. Well guys, clarifying that 'it' was a diary entry. :D

A certain girl in the juniors, whose name has both feet and moon in it, has been liking a certain junior boy's pics left right center, as pointed out by the official photographer of the college. While the bias is evident, the girl denied that it was because of any particular reason. Hah! Too many sentences start with such seemingly unimportant 'no reasons'. :P

The Golden girl and Light boy were spotted in a theatre [drama theatre actually] recently [some days back] enjoying the show lesser than each other's company. Dr. Love felt good to see the love in blooms. :) Incidentally some of their gang friends were with them too. But the main attraction for them obviously was each other. Do we hear any other bells? ;)

The vital committee member who was making a lot of appearances here without meaning to, was reported to have a crush on a senior mallu this time. Incidentally, his car and attitude is what she likes the most. The black.. Well, Pandora will not give out too much information here. :P

One of the Rs was spotted sporting a kickey with an H. Well by witnesses reports, not one, but three kickies were 'sported'. Littles people make big impacts. Aye? The bigger ones carry the results around. Incidentally, on Janmashtami celebrations, the little one was seen scolding the other for stripping his tee off. Apparently, he was trying to get 'heads turned', that turned a single head and started a single scolding.

Some '99 people' are getting a lot of revenue from the health freaks of the college. What with personal trainers and loads of money, by the last count, 25+ people from the senior batch alone were visiting and working out in gyms. That is almost 1/4th of the batch. Wonder when the bug will bite with the same ferocity, the juniors. Incidentally, the super seniors have been complaining of lack of time and reasons for any form of exercise. Taking a leaf out of these books would help. [Mostly the '99 people' :P ]

Janmashtami celebrations this year, saw the record unbroken. This time too, the peacock boy had the honors to break the matki and F10 were the winners. Cheerz to F10 [again] ! The enthusiasm of the juniors was not any lesser though.

Some of the super seniors [The designer and a small gang] had chosen to meet up in the college the same day. The common room stood witness to the get together.

The basketball team of the college showed high spirits during their match with another college on the 'inaccessible by girls' grounds of the campus. Though initially the girls were worried whether they would be allowed to watch the match, two brave ones [ the finance controller of her own company and yours truly] walked into the ground filled with an ocean of guys and started cheering the team. Soon, a bunch of our students joined the cheering team.

Rain stopped the game with 8 minutes to go and the cheering team had to leave unfortunately. The game restarted for the 8 minutes later but as one of the Spartans put it, 'they snatched defeat from the mouth of victory' by losing for one point. Nevertheless, the spirits and team dynamics were really good. Incidentally, the opponents decided to show off their anger like kids. One of our team members showed me a bruise mark from the pinches they were instilling on our people. Nevertheless, our team gave back as good as they got. ;) Good job guys!

Faculty unfortunately failed to make it to this edition. :P

Couples + Gossips + Vital Committee + Faculty Gossips

Well well well.. yes, a lot of things passed by while Pandora kept wondering when to open the box again.
So, for a quick update, the blue legged lady and her guy [ politically her ex :) ] are no more together. After all the gossips that they sent around, Dr. Love is sad it is over.

New couples [well, not really new. But older ones who came out in the public.]..
The junior who shares his last name with a senior CR, and the girl who shares her name with another senior are together. Most of the time seen in the library whispering to each other, they are seen together even outside it at other times. ;) All coochy coochy coo..

The fraud mallu from delhi and a real mallu were seen outside campus having walks and coffees together most evenings. Well, though both of them vehemently denied and repeated the phrase 'just friends', Dr. Love finds a cupid's arrow somewhere in the scene. Well, that also lead to laments from some junior girls that said 'Oh, the last of the good looking guys is now gone! What do we do?'

The second in charge of the vital committee left the course some days back and the thought was running in his mind from the internship days. His company seemed more important to him than the completion. He has personally been a headache to yours truly. But, was good at contributing [mostly through swearing at very unexpected moments] to the vital committee. Coming to college in his home clothes was the latest [and last] hobby he pursued during his last days on campus. BTW, his leaving lessened my source of gossips to nearly half. [Either he was the reason, or he was the source!] And he left a lot of memories in a lot of minds [mostly girls] before leaving.
This has also saddened another vital committee member. Guess who! :P
Also, now settled in the garden city, he seems to have asked for a raise owing to all the extra expenses.

Two vital committee members from the junies have been an item for a long time now and have been demanding to be put up here from like the start of the year. Here you go! :P

A certain vital committee member is now called 'joey'by the pupil of [his] eye. Am sure two people are gonna murder me once they see this.

Talking about the Vital committee, the corridors of the Vital Committee seems to be silent these days. Or is it the silence before the storm?

The Rs have finally moved from describing themseleves as 'just friends' to something more. See how the meaning of 'just friends' is really not 'just friends'?

A data card has become a 'vested interest free' loan between two financial prodigies of the senior batch. Apparently, as the 8.5er realized that the girls hostel didnt have net, he offered his data card to this JR favorite. And that too free of cost and vested [oops!] interest! Wish yours truly were the JR favorite too. :P

Welcome Back Bumps!

The girls had tattooed a certain heartthrob's name [that is what he is called in his friend's circle] on their wrists when he had gone on leave owing to illness. Typhi as yours truly calls it. Also the warm welcome he received when he returned was captured in stills so as not to be forgotten!

The Washington DC guy surprisingly has lost a lot of weight [not so much of a surprise if you remember even he was attacked by typhi] But some are speculating if it is his move in getting ready to 'feel the west'. ;)

The Phd exchange student left on the 19th and this must have created an impact on the hostel's assistant warden and some hopeful guys [whom I am not allowed to mention the names of, for 'prestige' sake].

Merc Match : Another vital committee member has finally found her match from Merc. Dr. Love wishes their drive in life be Merc style! :)

Faculty Gossips

A toast to the great batch!

The faculty who dealt with communications for the Senies threw a party at the end of the course. The Sunday became a Funday.

A Tribute to another professor by generations. A blog that has been commented on, by generations of students indicating how wonderfully a professor can deal with classrooms. Students were planning to sneak into one of his classes just because of the word of mouth advertising happening from his students. His course ended some days ago. And Facebook statuses about him flooded every Liba-ite's wall. Sheila will be missed. So will be Kotler and the Nadi kinare coffee. :)

Even faculties are making it into Pandora's Box! Hah! :)

Gossips + Faculty + Events + Pics

Yes, it has been long since this post was in drafts. Was just waiting for a couple of confirmations.

The information previously published in this space, was declared untrue and hence removed no bars held. The author apologises for the trouble created with it.

The finance specialist who did his schooling in Deoghar, finally got to be friends with the doctorate exchange student. His friend has finally done the vaadha nibhaofying. The guy is rumored to have a girl back at his home town which obviously is not a hindrance for his social life here.

The sleepy headed guy, aka the biatch [yeah, he wanted me to refer to him so, from now.] gave me a personal scoop and said he was just 'good friends' with the KPN buddyship. Pandora should actually put up a list of all those 'good friends' at LIBA. BTW, this is the right time to go at it if you like this sleepy.. oops! biatch. He is ready to mingle, he mentioned during the scoop.

Also he is staying outside campus now that rules were broken frequently.

Incidentally, Pandora had requests from people to defame them. I had a guy who bugged me [enough to pull my hair out] to defame him. Pandoras is not a place for testing your EQ.

Tanhaai has been bugging the TTS intern so much that Dr. Love wishes some girl gives him company soon or we will have more poems coming our way!

Pandora ran across a senie [who wishes to remain anonymous] having a crush on a junie. Speaking of the success rates, the 'senie girl-junie boy' couples have not seen much day light in our college in the past. 'All in good time, shall be revealed' was her only words.

Talking about senie-junie relationships, the senie [also known as 'bro'] is together with the junie who shares her name with the girl's hostel assistant warden. There goes another buddy relationship that has reached 'levels'.

Dr. Love has found two 'R's together most of the time from the juniors - mostly on the fountain in the evening, or the car park. Incidentally, they are also 'just friends'.

Break Free happened last week with the collaboration of the circle and the enterprising club. Games, quizzes, prizes, and fun filled the days. Incidentally, the enterprising club is looking out for a name and all of those creatives out there, send in your entries.

A place in the college has been termed the 'kuttichuvaru' by the jobless frequenters of it. Also known as the jobless wall, it is usually filled by first years and second years who have nothing to do but socialize in the evenings and during break hours. Yours truly frequents it too. Who knows how many couples would form there on that very chuvaru in months to come!

The Nagarcoil guy and his Dearness Allowance are seen having a good time around the campus. It has been some time since they have been going around now. Both of them are from the same place.

Our former dean is back to college to take 'his subject' again. But he wont be taking back his former position.

A musical night revealed the unrevealed sides of our faculty. The communicative professor was the MC for the night and she rocked the show. Another faculty, also responsible for the vital committee, sang solos with full spot light on her. The reporter, who is also an ardent muZic lover mentioned that it was one of the best voices he has heard for a long time.

Freshers' Hot! + Gossips + Events

Freshers' day witnessed a lot of 'developments'. A group of Junies realized 'It was their life!' that night! Songs were sung for the occasion and dances, danced. Hope you guys had fun though! :)

Purple day - A junie with a crush on another decided that 'Action spoke louder than words' is the best way to express his feelings. So, the first time he saw her, as she was wearing purple, he proposed all who supported him wear purple with him. And so, a day came when campus was flooded with purple. Unfortunately for a prof, she also wore purple that day. The junie was good enough to thank the prof for the support. :P
On freshers', the junie took her aside and was reported to have expressed his feelings in words. But my sources tell me she finished it 'amigo-bly'.
A song has also come to be associated with the incident, Jabse tere naina.. And the junie sang it for his crush on the Freshers'.
But it seems the Nainas of a lot of other guys are behind her.

Some of the juniors [ 7 to be precise] already confessed that their crushes are 'WIP' [work in progress!]. And until some results come up, keep speculating who those juniors are!

Some seniors used the freshers to flaunt their lovers. The drummer dedicated a song for his love. The little lady, and the forever girl also had brought their lovers to campus. Dr. Love is happy for all of them. Incidentally, Pandora was informed that two senior guys are in the process of getting committed in the 'traditional way'. We will have too many treats to attend as soon as the course gets over if this goes on like this.

There is a 'NEW' Tamil couple that has not come into public yet in the senies. The only clue is they both have an 'e' in their names. :P I am not allowed to divulge more about this. The reporter was adamant about this. But it is easy, strike out the one without Es and when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains--however improbable--must be the truth!

As was predicted, the buddy program is showing symptoms of becoming more than buddyiship in some cases. The KPN buddyship, has it taken higher levels? Has the bug bitten either of them? Speculations are going around the campus about this.

Juniors also seem to have an affinity towards breaking bones and injuries. A guy with the name of a bird injured himself playing TT, after the bike accident another had and a soccer accident yet another had before that. Pandora also came across a Junie who had no clue what or how he injured his hand. This was the day after the Freshers.

Breaking news!! : A junior has been taking entrepreneurship to an altogether different level. However no clue is being given out here considering the integrity of this blog. Right information will be be disclosed at right place at right time. Till then "keep it clean", Right guys? :)

Insight is BACK again! Bottom of the pyramid is whats up. Everyone's bottoms will be back on fire too, soon.

Couple Special + News + Rumors + Gossips

On 'popular' demand, [ahem ahem!] Pandora is back with news! :)

Couples, some were made and some were kaput during internships. The effects were seen after the senies were back from interns. Reasons? Well, some may have just realized being single works better. Or someone else.

Dr. Love found that the blue legged lady of past and her guy are still going strong contrary to many speculations. The representative couple, have been too, if not closer. BTW, a certain 'Jacton' celebrated budday some days back.

This was supposedly a couple special. And pics were approved by some of them. But not all were comfortable with sharing pics. So, here goes the pics of those who are ready for public appearance and a mention of those who are not.

The sleepy headed guy was not sure if he had a gal friend. The silent tamilian couple was uncomfy about putting the pic in. So were the representative couple. The phoenix bird decided not to spill the beans now. And the one with a royal bike decided to remain subtle about it. So much for couples in the senie batch!

Guess who did that^! I heard a precious stone scream right after it broke and fell.

Insight ball is already rolling. A past speaker’s niece is heading it this time. This time the ball has been handed over by the professor with insight earlier than usual.

A wolf’s pack made another wolf’s pack perform at spring last week. The sleepy headed guy after all used his head. Sources told me that the ascent was pretty good.

Junies have given up with signatures already. Two days and they have lost enthu. Btw guys, if you expect us to give signature on the 11^th hour, you are not receiving any! Mind it! And yes, please make sure you at least know the name of the person when you approach a senie for signature.
I also was informed that a prof lamented that the junies do not have the ‘spring in their steps’. Junies, are you listening? Say your say!

Incidentally, junies make sure you grab your buddies from senies soon. Or all the good ones will soon be taken! This reminds Pandora of the ball in the fourth year of the harry potter series.

Committees and clubs are already interviewing peoples of the junies of the LIBA. The important committee this time had 3 rounds, the last round being on Monday. Also a mention of the slow down in the economy on day one has brought down the morale of a chunk of senies. And junies, make sure you make the most in LIBA and the clubs here.

The new gals abode has a lot of fun ‘Just like that!’. At the expense of [in a way] of the junies. At night, when it rains, rain dances happen ‘just like that!’ Ah! Pandora loves informing the tradition in forming!

The major course revamp has given scope for adventure. Literally. They also have one subject more each sem. The scare of an oral exam [not dental] adds to the load. Sources informed me it will include all portions from the first and second year. And you cannot appear for finals without crossing the orals.

Some junie gals came inquiring to the senie gals about senie guys who are 'eye candies'. Eye candies? Really? Guys beware! :P

A couple in super senies, a down to earth couple who never made much of a fuss while at college, are ready for the alaypayude fuss. Dr. Love wishes them good luck and hopes everything turns out well.

Incidentally, no form of bribing except grades will work if you dont want me to write about you on Pandora's. :P Many people approached the writer asking if they could be left out of news this year. So far, No way! :P Also some were eagerly asking when would the writer write about herself. Well, guest posts are welcome! After proper checks, they will be published. :)

IPO + Junie News + Girls Hostel + Gossips

Our IPO has been interviewed by the Indian Express and the four of them are already celebs and viral on FB. Article attached for those who have not seen it yet.

Meanwhile, I also heard the senie 'trainer guru' has gotten his successor for the post "trainer guru" from the F10 batch. Speculations on who is the next one, end up on some six packs. ;) It was reported that already 5 people have 'enrolled' for the training. Junies, here is your chance and guru. Make sure you use it well. ;)

The junies will arrive by June 5th and get settled in the hostels by the time we senies reach. Both the batches are getting to know each other at Facebook and chats.
Incidentally, one of the junies had a doubt regarding "what to call our profs". The junie's options ranged from names [oops!] to mams/sirs. But I also heard he has tasks waiting for him on account of this. :D

A lot of thoughts about switching specializations are running around in the minds of the interns. From 'Duals to cores', to complete changes of streams. Apparently, this happens every year after internships.
Some 'interns' are using the internship time to get ahead in their enterprising skills. Something keeps buzzing in the ear all the time.

Sources told me that the new girls' hostel has an "in time", "SILENCE time" and a strong wall + iron gate. And we all thought Servite was worse! Girls, hope for a hostel warden with some human element. Having Loyola girls as 'hostel mates' was not completely unexpected. Or was it?

A little scope for thought before signing off aka Gossips -> The super senie girl, with the name of a nut stays at the boys hostel till 8 in the evening 'TT-ing'. TTing or missing someone special? ;) Who knows!

Also the 'Golden couple' from super senies, was seen exchanging courtesies on FB. Are they not in touch otherwise? After 10 comments on 'why here', there was a reply that sounded like "am here. just the same and no searching of anybody :) :)" Is everything alright? :?

Are our Junies really having a welcome party all for themselves?

First of all, Thanks Chaitik for passing over this legacy to me to continue bugging our LIBAites with.:) It was and is still fun learning how to write in here from you Chaitik! :)

Hello everyone from the 'first years', the soon to be the Seniors!
I am the Junie Blogger and taking over from him from here. It is amusing how just yesterday we the 'first years' came into LIBA and today we are already doing our interns all over India and waiting for the juniors to arrive. Was just a yesterday we all introduced ourselves to each other over and over again till names stuck. Hope all you out there are having fun doing your interns, wherever you are. I am glad I was chosen to do this. Hope I do justice to this.

Now, my small "Terms And Conditions"

1. Gossips are Gossips. They are either widely talked about or widely whispered about. They are not the secrets you tell me. If you still dont get why your story is here, it is because it is talked about.

2. I am looking out for stories all the time. So, if you have something, mail it across to juniorpandoras at gmail dot com or just tell me in person. Your identity is safe with me. But I will make sure your story is right before I publish it.

3. Pics that tell a story are always welcome. Send them to me and they will be on. It could be anything from an outing with your own gang or a funny moment or anything amusing that brings a smile on faces.

4. Personally I am not much of a gossipper. So, that defect will always be seen. So, please bear with it.

Day 0 - I sign off!

We won! we won! We won! For Sachin and for India (After all superpower Rajnikanth blessed the match with his presence)

I was meaning to write this post on the last day, but the goodbyes and the travel and the match made sure that this post is posted from Mumbai!

One year has passed and I realized I gossiped more than any girl in LIBA. What an achievement ;)

As I write this post, a plethora of memories flood my mind with 2 yrs of sheer madness. Unknowingly, this blog became one of my closest memories in life@LIBA. It was fun to write every post on this blog. Thanks to my "secret reporters and spies" who fed me with news from every corner of the 'world'. But the real secret of the gossips has been that a huge part of it came from the readers of the blog itself. Since many gossips were too personal to be featured on the blog, they had to be filtered out. Will never forget the fun in playing around with the names of real characters at LIBA.

Apart from gossips, am proud that Pandoras Box - "the unofficial blog" became one of the faces of LIBA to the outside world as well as a medium for the seniors to stay connected with life@LIBA :)

Not keeping this too long, thank you everyone for encouraging me and double thank you for being their sporty best when featured in the gossip sections of the blog.

About the new author, I would like to say that there would not be a better suited person for Pandoras Box. Most of you might have already guessed the author's identity by now. Am sure the Junie blogger will keep up with the legacy! All the best! :)

Lastly, I hope that someday after LIBA when you open this blog, the posts will serve as a flashback of our glorious days.

Day 4 from the Junie Blogger

Day 4

A small update from the Junie Blogger

The US president's lookalike is hanging out 25*7 with the precious stone girl. Solitary walks and everything. Making the most of the last days at LIBA. My spies were eager to tell me about this.

Two 'single kids of parents' have been seen together from Beacon times. They were seen together almost always but Farewell was the time when they confirmed they are not going to leave each other's hands. Literally. Symbolically? Go figure!

Exams going on and all the First years are looking forward to the silver lining they see approaching by 31st.

The Junie also came across 2-3 Entrepreneurs from the first year. Inspiring!! One of them has already got people working for him. [More details soon!] The other is on the way to patent her products and I heard talks for large scale production are going on. She was also one of the reasons the first years had to sit through the "IPR" classes of USR.

Procrastinated a 1000 times, now the 'hostel allotment ceremony' will be held only in June. The fear most first year girls [soon to be second years] have is that the 'soon to be first years' will be alloted the good rooms before we return from internships. Right now, all we get is a big room to keep our stuff and leave for interns.

Summers have achieved 100% placements and the vital committee members were seen congratulating each other.

The D-Effect theory seems to be a hit among first years. But the effect on this batch will be confirmed only after the interns.

The Yearbook 2009-11 distribution has finally started and from what I hear, it has lived upto the expectations! People are just loving it. Hats off to the hard work put by Nikhil and the Yearbook team. That surely required some selfless efforts :)

Day 7

Am starting today's post with theory that has been developed by the great Bartender turned Rockstar turned Bartender turned Director turned Bartender turned MBA grad :P

The theory is named the D-Effect theory (by the inventor himself)

This theory is applicable to all 240 full time students of LIBA.

It says that cupid strikes 3 times during the entire 2yr duration of an average love inclined soul at LIBA.

1st Term
3rd Term (with summer internship extension)
6th Term

There are a lot of facts and figures to support these claims. Pick up any "We are just friends" around you and they are more likely to fit into one of these categories.

Disclaimer: The above time frames hold true only for the first sparks that fly between the cupid struck. The love might intensify or get realized or get declared in public later.

Dr.Love says "Good news for the 1st years: If you have missed the 1st term strike, don't loose heart. The 3rd term summer extension and the 6th Term will make sure everyone is happy!" :)

And the reason this theory has been put up on this blog is because of the credibility and the experience of the inventor on the soils of LIBA.

The Farewell

The farewell for the great batch of 2009-11 was on Sunday, 20th March. It was one hell of a show! The grand red carpet entrance made sure the mood was set for the evening. The original I.P.O. performed for the last time and made sure it set the hearts thumping and the audience jumping.

And yes, the nariyal awards were a hit amongst everyone for the sheer 'uncovering the hidden stories' act :D

Lastly, it all ended with Ms.LIBA and Mr.LIBA awards that were given away to Lis and 'yours truly'! :)

I would like to end this note by thanking the juniors on behalf of all the seniors for giving the awesome farewell and most importantly the time that we all would cherish for a long time now. Thank you! :)

Day 12+Flashback+ Revelations

Day 12

Today is the Farewell day for the great batch of PGDM 2009-11. The day brings back all the memories of our seniors farewell and how we used to say "1 year more..." And here it is.. like zip zap zoom!

Happy about classes getting over and not so happy about everything getting over!

Snapping out of the sentimental mood, let us talk colors! Its been all over the place.. LIBA.. LIBA Hostel.. LIBA hostel rooms etc. And the first years spared noone in the LIBA hostel (with a few lucky exceptions :P). They were all roaming around like pink panthers since 12 midnight. The smart ones who guessed what was coming quietly locked their rooms and did not respond to any tring tring or knock knock :)

The celebrations then shifted to car park in morning and everyone had a colorful time there.

The theme for todays farewell is "Red carpet". And this has got the girls more worried than India's budget or Japans nuke leak. All kinds of permutations and combinations are being thought of and the dress to wear has been the center of any discussion in LIBA.

However, there were some moans when the theme was changed from Hawaiian to Red Carpet considering ease of dressing in this hot weather. Looking forward to today's evening :)

Flashback

The farewell of our Dean, Dr.Gowrishankar, Prof. A.C. Fernando and Fr. John Alexander was celebrated in LIBA hostel few days back. It was a time to go back down the memory lane to all of us. But what stood out was the words of the dean when he said that 'We need to be more student-centric' Instead of talking about the good ol days he spoke strong for the students. *Clap clap*

Wishing all the best to the professors for all their future endeavors. They will be missed! Hope they remember their bright students ;)

The dinner time was even more adventurous when all the students literally climbed over each other to be in a "Q". The more patient ones ate their deserts first followed by the main course. Group dinners with a truck load of hunger are always fun ;)

Yearbook

Thanks to the constant efforts put in by the Yearbook team, the yearbook has been sent for printing. And it will be in our hands on 25th March. Also, the 1 minute video shooting is almost near completion. This makes me wonder what happened to the batch photograph :)

Its Official

Yes! It was reported on this blog first but then the "victims" denied it. But now it is Official! We have got a new couple in second years. Dr.Love says "Last, but not the least". Hint: Both are famous amongst us. And am putting their pic below for you to guess who they are. Open for comments :)

From the Junie blogger again.. for all you gossip hungry people, here is more of gossip and less of news! LIBA is indeed a haven for Dr.Love. Enjoy Maadi! :)

Two junies were spotted with some 'Bites' around the college, the girl trying to hide it with her dupatta and the guy, collar. Dr. Love saw it the days both appeared. But waited to confirm. While neither is acting like it is what it is, my spies confirmed that it is what it is. I am not putting in names here or clues since it is a bit 'controversial'... Go find out yourself! The interesting part was, after a day or two, they didn't even mind hiding them. Round necks ruled.

The blanket girl of Kodai, [that is yet another story. But, its old news now.] is still not back from where her birthday party led her to. Get well soon and see you back soon!

I also heard, the guy who had a 'crush on a girl' [in his own words] apologized for acting weird and has stopped pestering her for now. - Good for him!-

It raised an eyebrow of Dr.Love when the Mumbai girl changed her joining preference from Mumbai to Chennai. Hint: The girl was featured in one of the recent posts of the Senie Blogger :)

The "Fathers favourite child" gets into news again. Not for any stunts in LIBA hostel but stunts in heart of a girl from the city of 'Taj Mahal'. He got a nod from the girl to talk to her father for the marriage proposal. Marrying or not, the response definitely boosted his confidence which now makes him stay awake all night. Coz 'Citi never sleeps' :P

The "degree holders" had a celebration dinner the other night. Or so my informers said. They did barbecue some chicken and eat them.

Matches were being squeezed in between breaks for every game as the sports events were still on. There was also an incident of a very "sporty" senie swearing the hell out for losing to a poor junie. The women's basketball and throwball games were rough it seems. Too much of pushing and pulling and pinching and kicking brought the adrenaline high. Men were surprised at the roughness of the games. Why should boys have all the fun ;)

The 'bundle of energy' and the tallest man beat the precious metal girl and the King of senies in Badminton finals. Eyewitnesses tell me, that this not only excited an enthusiastic bunch of F10s but also a group of 911s who were praying for the junies like true mates. There must be another story behind that though. Also, my spies caught a senie being kidnapped by the junies to cheer for them.

The exchange students from our college have been finalized and the list been put up. The lucky ones are getting dollars of monies to visit their yaya lands. And probably do some studying too -or working - . :P

The past two-three weeks were so hectic, the junies have already started looking for the end of the sem.

And senies are already counting down and making the most out of the 15 odd days they have here left. The number of masti outings have increased exponentially in the past month.

Last few days can be summed up as days with no internet connect and badminton matches. Wonder if there is any direct co-relation between the two. And amidst the world cup, here are the winners of "LIBA Open":

Yesterday was the day of the doubles champ and the tallest boy in LIBA! (Its not me and Yes! It hurts to write that). And as always the Juniors were all there to cheer and shout their brains out even if the player sneezed :P The seniors were seen scattered here and there. My analysis is that the seniors have moved up the Maslows hierarchy where cheering in Badminton matches comes at the bottom of the pyramid :)

Last night saw Havaana (Its in Raintree hotel in Alwarpet) turn into a LIBA party zone where who is who of LIBA Junta emerged and danced till they dropped. Sang, who is now the official party tracker and party hopper spread the word and there we were! Must admit that "girls nights" are the worst things that can happen to guys. All you can do is get jealous of all the free drinks they dive into :P

The "Tennis Star" played it safe this time and traveled by cab :)

The hottest buzz these days is the Yearbook! And Dr.Love has been the happiest to lay his hands on it! The "Best Manager" grabbed the opportunity and wrote a full fledged love letter for a girl where everyone was supposed to fill just one line. Who is the girl? Open the yearbook and find out :) Don't forget to see all the tabs! This is the first time that he has made an entry into Dr.Love's column! Welcome! :)

Day 27
These are the days of leisure. The seniors are sparing no stone unturned to make full use of time. Some of the traits that have been observed: Open Chennai maps and explore the idliland; Mingle even if you are not Single (yes! people have been roaming around in all possible permutations and combinations); Try those killer looks you always wanted (The 'JLL guy+bookworm' was spotted with a new look some days back); and most evident of all get into shape (Chennai Rice has surely made some round assets)

Amongst seniors, the "Patna boy" took a step forward and took a group of juniors for a treat. The post budget sensex surely made his heart a bit bigger than before :D
Some Juniors have already escaped to the fav getaway of LIBA - Mahabalipuram (Such 'spiritual' souls we have on the campus)
The "Nail art" girl broke her fast and ate non-veg after a year. Dr.Love suspects the reason of the fast :)
As per Obama, the "turbanator" is making the mexican girls go down their knees in US. This exchange student is definitely sending shivers down the spines of guys there.

Hidden Treasure
Featuring today in this section is a rockstar who manages almost all of the blockbuster events of LIBA. The pic is of the year 2006 I guess.

The marketing guru as we see him now was totally different before. Now we know the secret of his 'Brand Identity' ;)
Many of us still cannot imagine him without his "charm" or should I say "lucky charm"? :)

Day 28
Canada showed some Irish signs but with no luck in the end. Similar is the case with the internet connection of boys hostel. It shows some prosperous signs for few days but no luck afterwards. Yes, the speed has come down and the disconnection frequencies have gone up.

This week has been too hectic for the 1st yrs and people who have taken FMD from 2nd yr. For the rest, its been a mini holiday season :D (Now you know why I have posted on two consecutive days)

The big news at the moment is that our beloved faculty and one of the pillars of LIBA is leaving :(
18th March is his farewell date. He will surely be missed for a number of reasons. So yes all you people; write your 'grades wish list' and ask him to grant you your wishes before he leaves :P
This reminds me of our farewell. Hope it is on the 18-19th weekend. Since the 12-13th one will be the last free weekend the seniors will be getting.

The Tata-Birla JV finally managed to escape on a quick trip along with the gang. The "servite blogger" reportedly had an awesome time :)

Day 29

Let me start with Life @ LIBA during the world cup. Last night saw the first major upset with Irish men giving the English men left right and center. The LIBA hostel is always charged up for such matches. But it is the number 10 that does some magic. Post 10, the match was watched under mute. It goes without mentioning that audience's reactions were monosyllabic :D

This month is special to all of us. A month that has a lot of lasts and lot of firsts. Suddenly everyone wants to do everything before the 'retirement' day. Good thing is that studies have taken a back seat (for many this might seem as a status quo) and bad thing is the nostalgia that haunts with every passing day.

Chrysalis '11
Last event of the 911 batch concluded amidst music and thunder! P.S. After watching so many hollywood movies these days I have developed a special affection for the number 911 :)
LIBA saw the 2 most eventful days with a number of management and cultural events. Not to forget the flagship event Exquizite hosted by Derek O'Brein that was an instant hit among everyone. He surely knows how to steal hearts. Btw the event had one prominently deep impact on the crowd. Every 9 out of 10 people felt that they were among the dumbest persons alive when it came to GK. Hats off to the Chrysalis team led by the "poem" girl. Awesome work guys!

The Yearbook
Yes! The yearbook is one special gamut of memories that will remind all the seniors of the summer of 69 :) Kudos to Nikhil, Deepak Reynold, Nancy and the entire team for all the hardwork put. All the points of contact are helping immensly in getting this done. Getting things from 120 people and sticking to deadlines is a big thing here :)

Can't wait to put my hands on the final copies!!

The Campus Hostel radar

The list of the Juniors going for student exchange is up on the notice board. Congratulations to those who are 'breaking free' :)The Badminton court in mens hostel is finally showing some signs of recession. Although the elimination rounds are on and there are surely some favourites. During a badminton match on tuesday evening, a noisy group of supporters, led by precious stone girl interrupted the match. The refree tried to pacify the unruly crowd who were vociferously supporting the 'Azhagiya tamizh magan' in a calm manner. The crowd was so loud to handle that the refree had to threaten to call off the match.

Talking about hostel, the girls hostel is almost complete now. And as per the sources, a fountain is being made in centre of the yard inside the hostel. Like mens hostel, there was an option of badminton court too. But... (Lets hope this is just a rumour)

From the Gossip Factory
This is not exactly gossip but confirmed news. One of the senior girls from Kolkata is getting married on 2nd March 2012 with the love of her life. Congratulations to her.

Spies have been around the bike park since a few days and noticed an unusual phenomenon. The 'Best friend' of the 'Guitar boy and active Circle member' walking back alone. No more bike rides. Dr.Love is in the process of interpreting the entire scenario.Chrysalis was memorable for LIBA boys for another awesome reason. The girl from NIT named after a famous song from the hindi movie "Jaane tu ya Jaane na" stole everyones hearts. One boy from LIBA is still in close touch with the girl. Finding him is easy.. keep your eyes open :)

As per some reporters, the most controversial character on the blog is getting engaged with someone of the same batch (Hint: Junior batch. Boy is from north) The news kicked off when the boy paid a special visit to the girls parents during Christmas.

The bond between the "Light boy" and the "Precious metal girl" is getting stronger by the days. The light boy is even precious metal girls 'un'official badminton trainer (We now know the secret of the champ). Dr.Love says "Do we smell something here?" :)

Anyways, Sherlocks [ Shakespeare's or Doyle's, you decide! :P ], keep trying.

From the Gossip Factory

So, the junie blogger has finally graduated to "Dr. Love"!! Yippie!!! That is a great achievement. Eh?

Dr. Love finds, the 6 packer and the shy gal of junies are connected with some very romantic vibes. You know who am talking about. :P Truth or not, ask them. :P Apparently, the shy gal became very shy when he went up the stage for a recent celebration at college.

Another serious couple from the junior batch has formed silently in LIBA background. Dr. Love and spies noticed it first. The member of one of the winning teams of our recent workshop and the 'good boy' are the culprits. They are seen together almost all the time and the good boy also admits to it to anyone who asks him. That I say, is courage in love my friends! :)

In the mean time, another prominent couple, that went unnoticed in 2010, are also serious about it - they have no qualms publicly admitting it either- have been together for almost 4 months now. The old CR guy and his gal are going steady and Dr. Love wishes they remain together.. So much of love in the air! :) I am pleased.. Incidentally, the gal also admitted that she was wearing a gift from him on the special day. :)

Campus Radar

The foreigners as the junie blogger had suggested, were surrounded by people trying to socialize during Pongal celebrations. The blogger also noticed a certain turbaned junie vying for attention from a pretty one in the lot. Keep trying... :)

The date for Exquizite has changed to 26th Feb. As per the news Dereks numerologist found that the numbers now add up to something special. What special? Find out, quiz for you! :P

The Juniors are back from the much awaited kodai trip. And Dr.Love feels a special pull towards such trips. Wait till I get more updates on the "happenings" ;)

In the meanwhile some seniors including one of the authors of this blog went on a fairytale trip to beaches and shacks! Vasco Da Gama welcomed them with.....

Beacon
Beacon is all set to happen on 5th of Feb 2011 i.e. 4 days from now. It is being conducted in Hotel Green Park. A set of prominent speakers including some internationally acclaimed will speak on this years theme: "Social Innovation: A Catalyst for Inclusive growth". The food is gonna be awesome! Btw the notice board says "All are requested to attend..... Attendance compulsory" (talk about oxymorons) :D

The Vital committee
The vital committee coordinator can't stop smiling and thanking god these days. An angel showed up and blessed 1/3rd of the batch. Congratulations to everyone!
The vital committee member whose name starts with a girl celebrated his birthday with bing bang boom! Literally! His birthday is being featured in the hostel hall of fame with "Best Bum for the legs" award. Congratulations. He is worried that his bums might just suffer from permanent splitsvilla :P
As per one of the FB(I) reports, another member from "Delhi as well as WB" has become single. Dr.Love finds it interesting to keep a check on it. Expect a change very soon :)
Chrysalis 2011
The team Chrysalis is working day in and day out to take this event to a point that we all have dreamt of. With huge events lined up, the promotions got kickstarted with a photo caption contest on FB and it hit the bulls eye with loads of comments within just a few days. The ultimate quizmaster Derek O' Brein will be testing the mettle of the shortlisted teams who reach the finale of "Exquizite". Pongal Celebrations
The Pongal celebrations this year meant fun unlimited. "Pongal O Pongal" was in the air and on the stage. Firstly, hats off to the team who organized the event. It couldnt be more perfect that this! The campus was abuzz with traditional attire. The people enjoyed the sugar cane juice and sharbath and the yummiest cotton candy. The all LIBA mega model hunt named Azhagiya Tamil Magan a.k.a ATM was the biggest blockbuster which was won by Santiago. The "Precious metal girl" won the pot breaking competiton because of the Glucon-D she had in morning. The tyre race was won by the "candle light" boy from second year and the "Girl who shares her name with a famous bollywood actress" from first year. Spoonling a.k.a the balance act was won by the "Mangalore" girl. And amidst all this, the awesomest food cannot be ignored. All in all a day to remember! :)
The Campus Radar
The "Bengali" boy from second year has become retired hurt after sacrificing his bones at a badminton match. As a result he has occupied one of the emergency wards on ground floor of LIBA hostel. Wish him a speedy recovery.
The "Infosys guy from Rajasthan" is getting hitched for life. Congratulations and god bless you! (Dr.Love wipes tears fromhis eyes) And around 11 people from the batch have gone on an all sponsored trip to his wedding :)
The Seniors have all planned their 2 months in a way much better than the common wealth games. Doubt the planning? Have a look at the pic below :)
From the Gossip Factory
The the boy from "Modi" state and the girl in his life are an old news now. But the bonding between the two is growing faster than the speed of light.
Dr.Love has been noticing a few movements on campus that were not visible before 2011. I guess this year is indeed a good year.
As per the reports, the "Tall dancing guy with a recent Pongal connection" has given away is heart to the "Tamilian heartthrob". They were last seen dancing around the trees of parking lot.
Dr. Love also congratulates the Tata-Birla JV among second year birdies.
Another report states two more people to be struck by cupid; the boy whose name ends with that of a hollywood actress and the girl who shares her name with another girl of the batch - both juniors. Dr. Love says "What Looouuve" :)

The new author + Chrysalis + Campus Stories + Gossips

When our blogger senie stopped me two days back and asked me if I could carry on the legacy of LIBA, the 'unofficial' blog, PANDORA'S BOX, it was like one of those dreams come true. Oh yes, ever since I saw the blog, I wanted it. So yeah li'l ones, I said yes! YES!

But the junie is not yet ready to come out in the public and does not know if it is a Pandora's box that the junie is opening. In course of time, when blogger senie finds it suitable, he will tell you all. :)

Junies are now in a dilemma. Ask why? They donno whether to be sad or to be happy. Or whether to be excited or scared.

Sad, cos our senies will find their way of life and go ahead in 3 more very precious months. And at the same time, we, the junies, would become senies! Excited because of this or scared we will have to manage the major show ourselves in 3 months. Or probably less?

Many of the senies are sad that they have to leave LIBA and would get less time together with their ‘loved’ ones. Cupid hopes they find quality time to spend with each other wherever they are...

I am also guessing, half a month into the new year, your new year resolutions would have seen a broken promise or a broken window eh? How many have not thrown their resolutions out of the window yet? But then, we know resolutions are made to be broken. Just like promises!

My new year resolution? Well, years ago, I made a resolution. Not to make any more new year resolutions. That is by far what I have followed until now.. Hehe.. :)

Campus has already started buzzing with activity with Chrysalis on the go, and Pongal celebrations on 19th. Pongal O pongal! Poem gal and her team are right on toes with the butterfly of LIBA and wishing the team all success! Let the cocoon bloom and fly.. With colors!

"Peoples of the LIBA" are already getting in tune with the acad life.. Hardly a week and we are all talking about assignments and presentations already. Cribbing about 8 o clock classes is a common topic for status messages in FB now. And yeah, habitual trouble makers have started off their work again. My spies tell me, that the 'end of night' boy was caught by almost all the teachers and even sent out of the class once. Probably the profs are yet to learn. :P Right?

The publishing of grades of last sem has brought mixed emotions for the batch. Senies no longer need much grades so I am assuming their emotions are neutral if not positive.

The new exchange students have arrived. Have you gone and socialized with them yet? Well, not thaaaaat socialize you clever ones! :P They walk in a pack mostly so, I dont know if anyone has been able to break into their circle yet. And then again, they have just come...

Meanwhile, the blue legged girl is catching all attention again. This time, the whole section shifted downstairs for her comfort. Get well soon blue girl.. :) Incidentally, she was also in news by becoming single. Again. At least her status message changed. Cupid wishes her luck soon..

The Model girl has done her first public appearance with her IIMA boy [which was not a secret for most LIBA-ites. Still...] and broken the hearts of many expectant ones. Better luck next time guys!

Lohri celebration happened and half the batch of junies, [let alone the senies,] had no clue. Hope the next year 360 degree holder will see to it that others too know what it is like.

Choose good contents if you are good

Dear Readers,

I was watching this Koffee with Karan episode in Star World. The episode with Deepika and Sonam made so much news. May be not in southern part of the India but elsewhere. Apparently Deepika gave a "play boy" image to her ex-boy friend and there was so much noise around it. But the fact that Ranbir was also trying to endorse the same image in his own way in his chat with Karan went unnoticed. Deepika has become a bad, bitching girl of the B-town now.

This is my version of a story and I didn't think much before writing it. I want to ask you all, have you ever thought why people are so curious to know about something/some body who you know and even heard about. Such stories make even to the headlines of news papers. Why? Curiosity is a tool. People wanna know what happens in the neighborhood. "Gossip girl" an U.S television serial became a massive hit. Sun TV/Star TV finds so much viewers for its sops/Serials which uses this curiosity tool. But honestly don't you think people should mind their own business?. Don't you think these kind of giving what people like and not giving what is best for them is a cheap thing? I will answer this question shortly.

I still remember one of the 2009-11 batch student came up to me and asked me "Don't you have any other thing than writing this blog(About others)?". I am sure his question is valid to some extend. It is like asking when most of the movies are doing no good to society why not ban it. Come on brothers and sisters admit it. We all talk about others. Directly or indirectly. So sharing of incidents with fictitious names is not cheap.

Assume another situation when you take a boy/girl for a date. You talk to her/him for a while get to know him/her and you share some information about yourself. Next day again you meet him/her. You get to know about his/her family. You take him/her out after 2 years what can you possibly talk about? I am sure other people will feature in that conversation. You start talking good and bad things about people you know. Is that called "Bitching" or sharing information? Is it gossiping or just another conversation. It definitely depends on you. If you can avoid presumptions that are used to judge others and look at it as fiction that can give you interesting insights then it will be an useful tool in life "case studies". You will have very less enemies and you will show lot of maturity during tough situations in life.

As one of the authors in this blog, knowing clearly that these stories which I write, have absolutely no relevance in my life, I believe that it gives me an opportunity to learn. Learn? Yes.
When I started looking in for stories for these gossips(May or may not be true), I bumped into interesting things like a "Live in relationship". I could view it from a different angle. I didn't think that these guys are spoiling the culture. Rather I started weighing its pros and cons. Obviously you will see more cons in Indian scenario but honestly if you can face the hurdles and still be happy you have learned to live as it is legal in India.

It cannot get boring than this, but bare with me folks as I have decided to write at least one useful post in this year he he.(This is just an attempt) One thing to all the readers please do not take everything seriously. Let it be story in this blog or any discussion which doesn't involve "You". Remember this blog is only meant for entertainment and we are not circulating facts out here. "Live, Love and Learn". Peace.

Vital week + Christmas + Resolutions

And Pandoras Box is back online.. out of hibernation.. alive and kickin!! A lot of life changing things have happened in LIBA between my last post and this post!

The Vital week

How can this post not start with the most important news! The Placement week was a roaring success this year! For one week, the campus was like a 42km Marathon track and people were seen running in all possible directions through the day. From shouting to dancing to hugging to crying; the 'hub' saw it all. And hats off to the Vital Committee for pulling off the most challenging week at LIBA. Special mention to Biron and team and all the Juniors who worked for it! Here is thanking you on behalf of all the Seniors. All the efforts and hard work were clearly visible in every passing second during the week. Amidst all this there is one person who never comes to limelight yet is the backbone of and silently drives the entire team - Prof. Susan Thomas. One word to sum it all - Thank you! :)

Congratulations to all those who got their dream jobs. And to those still waiting for one, better things are definitely up in store for you. All the best! :)

The Christmas Celebrations

The year 2010 ended with a thunder bolt and a big bang of happiness. It was the time of celebrations and giving. Like every year, LIBA had the awesomest Christmas celebrations on campus on 17th Dec. And like every year, LIBAites celebrated Christmas along with small kids with music and skits. The kids had a fab time when the 21st Century visiting Santa a.k.a. Kiran Paul entered along with residing Santa of LIBA, Davis! Indeed an evening to remember.

Campus Radar

The Circle is rolling like never before this time. Its Chrysalis - The management fest of LIBA! And everyone has joined hands to make it bigger than ever before. The theme this time is Chrysalis itself which means change or transformation. Knowingly or unknowingly, the butterfly seems to be becoming the mascot of Chrysalis. The "Poem" girl and team are putting in tremendous efforts for the February event. All the best.

IPO - LIBA's official band has been shortlisted to perform for Saarang 2011 for the event named 'Powerchords'. Congrats to the band members and all the best! Way to go :)

The Seniors have started planning for a batch trip in the last term. After a series of intense talks on who should take the initiative by other batch mates, the HR girl took a step forward to start and carry on the discussions. The "flame" boy who headed the last batch trip has also decided to pitch in for all the help needed. This might as well be the last batch trip so let us make it memorable.

New year resolutions of LIBA

Firstly, wishing you all a very happy and "prosperous" new year! Hope all of you had super amazing holidays. God bless all of us with loads of onions :P

Like every good citizen and human being, I have compiled a list of new year resolutions that we LIBAites would love to make (and break) ;)

We will attend all the 8am lectures
We shall sleep at night and stay awake during lectures and not otherwise
We will remember that we have breaks to go to canteen and avoid running during lectures
No shouting and screaming "Annaaaaa kaafeee" in canteen. We are all MBA's with etiquettes
Say no to copy paste for at least one assignment
Try to 'fall sick' less frequently
During lectures, we will remember that prof is in front of us and not in our cell phones :P
We will give more importance to 'course and learning' than professors while selecting an elective
We will celebrate all the festivals without 'email fighting'
Say no to booze in LIBA hostel :)
We will play less counter strike and instead use that time for studying
We will not smuggle any food in the hostel
Start studying at least 2 days before the exam. 2 is always better than 1!
Become a responsible internet user and stop downloading
We will spend more time off facebook than on it :P
We will attend all the guest lectures
We will make optimum use of the front rows during the guest lectures
Revive all the clubs and committees on the campus. They are dying to get a second life :P
We will not use library just for AC. There is a whole book world inside. Explore it!
We will not break any resolutions**
We will not gossip! ;)

Is Gossip good?

Am writing this post because of some furor that the Gossip column seems to have created. While we all enjoy reading about other peoples gossips, it seems to have offended some people this time. Based on their complaints, a few lines have been deleted from the last column.

This post is just to clarify certain things:

Things mentioned in the gossip column may or may not be true
It is meant to be taken in a lighter sense
The intention of this column is not to hurt anyones feelings
If you feel some things should not be up in the blog, feel free to call/sms/email me. Will be happy to improvise the blog

It feels bad when you 'unwantingly' become the reason to hurt some people because of the blog. The point of having a gossip column is to "Gossip". All the terms used in it are fictional and meant to be taken on lighter side. I, as the author of the blog, do not intend to insult/hurt/harm any reader of the blog through "From the Gossip Factory" column.

But then that is the thing with gossip - You always enjoy it till it is targeted on you.

No ones name is mentioned anywhere directly in any "Gossip" post. I will not be responsible for the assumptions that people make about themselves or anyone else. I repeat, the gossips may or may not be true.

Insight'10 + Some Farewell + The Circle

And after a long holiday, am back on the blog! LIBA saw a gamut of happenings in this break :)

While I am typing this blog, half of the hostel junta has changed their eye color to "Red". It feels like being in a zombie movie where people around you turn into zombies and you worry about who is next :)
Get well soon to all the affected species!
FSS-LIBA Insight'10

Insight'10 stood to its promise of being bigger and better when the curtains fell to a glamorous end of 2 Insightful days. The rockstar of the event was Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, and a current heartthrob. (As I type these lines, I could very well experience the flashback of those electrifying 1.5 hrs) The punch lines cum oath that the rockstar gave was "I will work with integrity, I will succeed with Integrity".

Apart from him, Insight witnessed a number of Industry stalwarts who graced the podium and shared their views on this years theme - NH2050 to the top: A runway powered by innovation"
Hats off to the "Precious metal" girl a.k.a. Goldie D'souza and team for all the efforts put in organizing the event. And of course the big boss and the guiding light Prof.JK who has been inspiring Insights to get bigger and better year after year!
The legacy of Chennai Trade Center has been roped in by the team this time. Hope the Juniors take it a step ahead next year :)
Farewell
Yes, the word is not easy for many people, but you cannot avoid it. It will be coming a term early for 5 of the Second years - KD, Selvina, Shruthi, Chhavi and Sleepy Joseph. A month filled with nostalgia lies ahead *Tears in my eyes*. Looking forward to a lot of treats and photograph sessions...
The Circle
Diwali saw a lot of fireworks on the Email group of the senior batch. Reason: Should Diwali be on 4th or 5th Nov? A number of people poured in their opinions and arguments and fights. This issue created a lot of frustration to the Circle head. In the end, Diwali was celebrated officially on 4th and unofficialy on 5th. Both the days were super fun :)
Another news from the stables of Circle - Chrysalis is the buzz around!
And this time, its not just the Circle alone; its like Captain Planet when all the forces combine to revive the event that fell heads down last year. And yes, this year it will surely be a mega event! All the best to The Circle!

This is the season that Dr.Love looks forward to! Its in the air again...
Former Chef of second year has given his heart away to the spice of Kerala. Its better late than never :)
Another news from God's own country; not new but just an affirmation to previously reported news - The relationship between the Kerala boy and the Hyderabadi biryani is scaling new heights day by day

The "flame" boy and his best friend have moved on from convincing everyone that they are just good "friends" to what Dr.Love likes to hear the most ;)
LIBA has modernized: "The retired hurt" boy from first year who was earlier interested in an "Alumni committee" member now invites CR to his room. This has been the cause of depression and insecurity for the "Alumni committee" member since the priorities of "The retired hurt" boy has changed.

Just 2 days left for "In da hood"(LIBArated '10). Hope the fierce but healthy competition between seniors and juniors continue this year too. Last two years the two major events where Dance competition and Fashion show. It was always like seniors win one and juniors win the other :D. Let us see if some thing changes this year. To know theme for both the events check the posters below. In fact there are three but third, singing used to be a dull event.

This section is meant to show case the talents that is present in LIBA to outside world. [Mostly on Extra-curricular activities] .

Today it is about two dancers. I believe studies + professional dancing is a deadly combo. To excel in both needs lot of dedication and talent. One is "Circle" head Kavitha and other one is Martina Robert. I knew Kavitha(2009-11) as a dancer before but Martina(2009-11) was a total surprise. To be part of John Britto dance Co.[One of the best in chennai] is awesome. Hope both of them continue to entertain and excel.

I wish Kavitha along with her team could rip the stage with a hippy dance on 23rd. But her leg injury and Aloma's food poisoning has not helped the second years. Hope they get better soon. Dia/2 - positive social change by leveraging management techniques:

Actually the content below should have been listed in Dia/2 blog. Due to the reason that we in "Pandoras Box" are also "Socially Responsible" in entertaining people I thought I would mention about few activities done by Dia/2 - Social responsibility wing of LIBA. :P . It was when Dia/2 member Jebaston came to me to collect some funds I came to know the initiative taken by our batch people[2008-10] has been really fruitful and now they have increased the number of activities done by the club. In fact they have done way too much activities in the very little they get. They need appreciation for the wonderful work.

Dia/2 team along with other students(more than 35 students) have gone to Mithra home for differently-abled and had spent time with them.[Time is the most precious thing you can give when you are in LIBA]. Then Dia/2 has conducted competition for women Self help group in association with TI cycles and so on. Jebaston was so happy that he received an appreciation mail from Fr.Christie for Dia/2's work. Come on guys! keep up the good work. Make LIBA proud.

Visit to Mithra - Noble cause

Dia/2 members if you are reading this please do me a favor. If you guys can tell me what is the management technique you guys are using to achieve social change like you have mentioned in the blog write it is as a comment.[I got the heading from your blog ;)]. It will be really useful for the other MBA people to use it in other activities.
Is truth ugly:
Have we ever realized when we think that we truly love a person, actually it turns out to be only an obsession towards his/her certain qualities or appearance. Every movie we see, every incidents we hear about gives a totally different angle to love. Here is a acid test to know whether you really love that person. Check how many times you have done constructive criticism on the person you love. How many times your mom had scolded you for something but at the end of the day you realize that it was for your good. Do we act like our mom, in our relationship or with friends. I am sure no one would like to be criticized but if we love someone we should care and want that person to become a better person. Constructive criticism plays a vital role in this.

Constructive criticism is essential because of the reason that our loved ones need to be better person. Ideal stage would be when it happens mutually. But if it isn't happening till now start today. You make the initial attempt. Most of the time our criticism is just to prove a point and has absolutely no purpose. E.g. We criticize politicians for not excelling in the their department/for being mediocre but some of us can remain the same way in life with no urge for excellence. Put maximum effort in whatever you do and that way you could have added some value rather than pointing fingers and trying to be hero's.

Gossip Factory: (May or may not be true)

1. It looks like Ms.KMC has won so many hearts both in LIBA and elsewhere.
2. Now in Europe, Indian guy has got some new changes reportedly. He seems to taste wine after food ;) and also seem to have put his hand around one of the ex-change girl for a picture. For a conservative guy even this seems like a big accomplishment. Hope he doesn't say to people "Man! Pick some girls, lets go and party" when he returns :)
3. Ex-Vital committee member and currently "outside India member" seems to have gone for the trip on a mission. Hope he/she finds what he/she wants.

Note :PLEASE take the "Hippiest Prof of LIBA" poll on the right hand side. Winner gets "Da Hood Prof" prize. :) Nobody will know who is voting. This poll is not to disrespect anybody. We in "Pandoras Box" respect each professors for their valuable contribution they are making to LIBA.

By the way I would recommend pasta at Eatalica, really good and filling, and at 125 bucks I feel its a decent deal (At one point in my life, anything above 100 was considered costly... but then that was 100yrs back) :P

Magic Moments

This is what happened when our seniors met up last weekend - Ria, Parul, Vishwa, Gurpal, Basto, Asit, Lawson and Christo! As per the reports, they went for a Dandiya Night in Chennai. How I wish the Seniors remembered their beloved juniors sometimes :P

Those who are sad to have missed out on meeting them, some of them will be making a star appearance at Libarated! Watch out!

The Campus Radar

5 days to go for Libarated! As per the reports, the Juniors are sweating it out to be the 'Hippiest'... and the Seniors are all 'In the hood'. It will be survival of the fittest ;)

I.P.O. will be performing at the Libarated. Their first ever performance for the brothers! Respek!

Insight team being spotted running all over the campus. With just 20 days to go for the event, all I say is "Suit up!"

The first round of Espire got over yesterday. And we managed to get 400+ executive summaries. Hats off to the team for all their efforts!

The exchange students had an Indian food extravaganza last week and enjoyed the specially cooked delicacies by the "Kolkata knight riders" ;)

The Juniors are racing against the time to get the suits stitched. Hope the "Suit"able person does the job with lightening speed.

The non-veg lovers dived into chicken and mutton after being vegetarian for 9 days due to Navratri.

The Vital Committee

A time comes in everyones life when we have to move on and pass on the baton to a worthy heir. Well, that time has come and the Vital committee has found its Junior Coordinator - Biron!

This makes him a Vital person on the campus now ;) Congratulations Biron! Wish you all the best! Hope you will carry forward this baton with flying colors.

Lectures and Laughs

There are always some incidents that happen during lectures that make us go ROFL :P This section is for those moments. And as of now I remember 2 such incidents I thought to share

What happens when suddenly a different person other than the prof starts speaking in the speakers of an on going lecture? And to add to that the person is not even visible. Thats exactly what happened in a certain lecture when the frequency of some other class Mic overlapped with our class and the prof stood there as confused as he could get figuring out what was happening. :)
Imagine this. A marketing lecture is on. The lecturer asks people an example of bad planning and servicing. A student answers 'Ampa Skywalk. The location is the worst possible location. The parking space is not properly planned and the entire mall is an example of randomness'. This answer would be totally fine if the Mall was not created by JLLM and the lecturer was not the MD of JLLM. :) But then its the "Ignorance is Bliss" that creates such moments ;)

From the Gossip Factory

The Marketing Boy of second year was spotted with the first year girl who has already been placed for summers in a Park. As per the reports, the bond between the two has seen an unprecedented growth

The "Body builder" boy took the crush of "Sleeping child" to a restaurant. Dr. Love shouts "Sleeping child! Wake up!"

The boy from the north who has taken Finance+Marketing has a huge crush on the Finance girl from the east. Though this has not been declared by him, Dr. Love says "I smell something!"

A lot of girls from second year are reportedly pissed off at the "Guitar" boy including some members of "The Circle". As per the sources, some people are literally at war with the boy. (P.S. The Guitar boy in this post and the Guitar boy referred to in previous posts are not the same.)

The "Party" girl is no longer seen with the 'chocolate' boy from the north. But now she is seen with the other boy a.k.a. "Hitman" who also happens to be from the north. Reportedly she left this boy form the north for that boy from the north; but now she is back to this boy from the north. The girl and the chocolate boy from the north were referred as the 'First wall breakers' in my older posts :P

The best friends in the Junior batch are going through some troubled times. These girls were so close that fevicol almost made them their brand ambassadors. But now they are not on talking terms with each other. One of them is a girl who won an award at a certain competition and other is the girl from the South who is also doing some important work on the campus. Hope they get back together and sing the "Summer of 69"

Janmashtami + Leg Breaking week + Brand Yourself

"I like it on table" has been the most popular choice till now, reports FB(I). Where are the other girls? :P

Actually FB(I) alone is enough to keep track of when a person sleeps, eats, pees, takes bath etc. Also, surprisingly, many people have been updating their profiles on all the Social media networks in a bid to make their connections more useful than just "Time pass" after an eye opening session of Jessie Paul. The power of Social Media I tell you!

Janmashtami Celebrations

Like this belated post, the belated Janmashtami Celebration happened last weekend. And they were nothing less than mind boggling and heart thumping and leg shaking celebrations (Ask the people who were in the 'bottom of the pyramid' :P) P.S. For Kashmiri's it was a head breaking experience as well! ;)

The celebrations were another feather in the cap of "The Circle"! Great job guys! Everyone had an amazing time. And before I forget, I thank the organizers for the Samosas and Chips and Cold drink - that was my and for many others, the biggest motivation for getting up and running to college at 9 :D

The Juni's learnt the art of climbing so quickly that even Maggi makers would feel that 2 minutes is too much time; and ultimately clinched the "Govinda of the year" crown even before the seniors could blink their eyes! Hats off to the team spirit! This was a much needed win to calm their heartburn after their Tug of War loss ;)

"Man of Janmashtami" award goes to Mayur! Suddenly he got some supernatural climbing powers and started behaving like Spider Man. If that was not enough, he got some more powers and started dancing like a dance God! If MJ would have been alive, he would again Die of complexion ;) Below is the Oscar winning picture! Dunno who took it, but the timing couldn't be more perfect!

Oh and belated Happy Birthday to 'Saurabh' (His bums got literally split in to 2 parts!) and Jasleen who nearly fainted and Madhumita too :P

Would appreciate the Juni's for awesome spirit, it felt like LIBA picnic celebrations. Everyone was so keen on making everyone else take a bath :D

All in all, a great day to remember!

A Leg Breaking week

Literally! And here is a word of caution for all the Committee heads of LIBA! When all of us were having a great week, a huge disaster was in sight when the "Vital committee" head fell from the stairs. Suddenly, the future of 240 students of LIBA was at stake! But then by gods grace she was up and running in 3 days. Just when the week started to get going, head of "The Circle" broke her leg. Wish her a speedy recovery! So if you are a committee head, beware of this breaking phenomenon. You could be next!

Brand Yourself

Now when we are talking about all the social networking hoopla, people have gone one step forward towards personal branding. Call it the Jessie Paul effect! Abhinav has gone one step forward and got his domain - www.abhinavjohnson.in. Am eagerly awaiting the contents of the website ;)

And now, the contribution of online identity cannot be ignored in shaping up our persona. All of us are always anxious about knowing about peoples lives just by opening a laptop and typing the URL.

In the end, its not about how we are, but its all about how we show ourselves to be!

Look at the pic below! Apparently, this makeover has been the talk of LIBA. As per the reports, when he went to another college to perform in I.P.O, a girl told him that he would look awesome if he cut his hair. Investigations are on to reveal the identity of the girl. The Vocalist surely knows to steal some hearts ;)

The "College" girl and "The fastest speaking girl in LIBA" had a showdown recently. And by showdown, I mean real big! The group members had to take a lot of efforts to calm down both of them. As per the reports, they are not on talking terms with each other. Hope all iz well soon!

A boy from LIBA hostel goes out on his bike everyday before college. He goes to a place away from college where a girl from the same batch is waiting to be picked up. The girl gets on to the bike and both of them come to college. Now the girl likes another boy from the same batch who she tries to be around all the time. Because of this, the biker boy from hostel has been very insecure. Will keep the story posted as and when I get any updates on this.

LIBA the fashion champ + I.P.O - The band

As I type this, I get a feeling of time passing by and shouting "Tick tock! Weekend over". And simultaneously I can also hear 4-5 mosquitoes humming the song "I gotta feeling" in my room! :-/

The 10 O clock bell just rung. So now its Silence hour in LIBA hostel! Thank god I don't shout while writing the post :P Anyways, I have always failed to understand such kind of restrictions put on such peace loving PG students of 9th Best B-School in India. Maybe we might go crazy after 10pm and start shouting and running around and have a 1000 decibel music concert! :D

LIBA is the fashion champ!

Yes! LIBA won their first ever inter-college fashion show competition "Gliterrati" at KMC (Kilpauk Medical College). The KMC fest was called "Pradharshini". Ever since, all the models a.k.a Ghosts are on cloud 9. The Seniors decided to stick to last years winning formula for this; and it worked! The Junior management and the Senior management participated in a ratio of 50:50- Awesome spirit I must say! Now the reason this prize is so important is that we defeated the fashion and cultural biggies like Loyola College and Crescent College. The win came as a surprise to many of our friends but then all the hard work paid off. Hats off to all the organizers for preparing for this event in just 2 days! Sanghita and Nikhil did a commendable job with co-ordination and all the running. The show was Choreographed by Goldie.

Sang and Dhaneesh did an awesome job with face painting. Awesome is kinda understatement here :)

Reportedly, the participants had a tough time on the ramp. Reason: Rowdy audience! The people were throwing paper balls on the participants. Although the organizers shouldn't have allowed such shit in the first place, some of our people lead by Navisha took the charge of putting them into place and made sure that none of our participants faced any trouble. (The team that went before us was an all girls team and the audience threw alcohol at them). This makes me wonder at how low the level of professionalism can drop.

Another feather in the fashion cap

Sonia won the Ms. Pradharshini crown! It was their own version of the beauty and brains contest. As per the reports, she turned into PT Usha (on bike) to participate in this contest. Courtesy: A severe fight between partying and participation. She got confused since both the words start with same set of letters. ;)

But in the end, she stole a 1000 hearts in the audience and the coveted crown! Congratulations!

Abhinav a.k.a. the only guy who gives me complex won the best dressed male award. With his killer outfit, he murdered the hearts of a lot of girls including some medicos. Wonder who will save the doctors now! Congrats to him too!

I.P.O (LIBA's new Band)

Ladies and the Gentlemens! Proud to present LIBA's own band "Initial Public Offer - (I.P.O)"! What better name for a newly formed band of 4 MBA students :)

Introducing the band : Praful - Lead Vocalist, Nikhil - Lead/Rhythm Guitarist, Vishal - On the Drums, and Rohith - Bass Guitarist

Finally, the drummer's seat found its successor after a year of emptiness at LIBA; and the band has started making some waves across the campus. The name of the band was selected after some 5-6 Parliament meets and some 2-3 International conferences among the band members.

The band recently had their first ever stage performance at the rock competition at KMC. They performed on their own composition of 2 songs. Though they did not win the prize, they surely set the stage on fire with their stellar performance! I just had a chance to catch them at the practice session and believe me I.P.O rocks \m/

Wishing them loads of luck for a heart thumping journey ahead!

Onam Celebrations + Joy of Giving + Pandoras Box opens up!

Things that are going through my mind as I write this blog:

2. Fresh new look of Pandoras Box ;)
3. The larger than life banner of LIBA's all India 9th rank for 2nd consecutive year! LIBA rocks!
4. Just went to a studio where they were practicing, and am still mesmerized by the awesomness of the newly formed college band!
5. The cutting down of trees in Loyola Campus during "Green fest" :-S
6. The eatable food of Hotspot. The guy has been celebrating diwali everyday ever since the back gates have opened up.
Onam Celebrations
Like every year, LIBA had belated Onam celebrations. And like every year it rocked! ;)
One of the most distinguished celebrations on campus, everyone was in traditional Malayali costumes. My mundu had a long story to tell for not being with me, hence it was excused. Must compliment the people who arranged for food! The tourist attraction of the celebrations was a flower studded swing. And guess who did stress testing for it ;)
The King Mahabali a.k.a Binu made a fantastic entry and was an instant hit among the audience. He blessed us for the best placement season ahead.
This year, the 2nd yr : 1st yr ratio of contenders for Malayali Manga was like you and mosquitoes in a room. (Can't think of any better analogy at this moment)
Awesome participation spirit by the 1st years. The winner of the beauty+brains contest was the "Murderer specialist" Natasha! Congratulations to her! The interesting part of the contest was that the 1st years spared no chance to pair up any contestant with a guy. Such a love seeking batch I must say :)
And it gives me immense pride and pleasure and happiness and muhahaha to say that the 2nd years won the LIBA tug of war for 2nd consecutive year. Courtesy: My cheering and mental support to the team.

Joy of Giving
The week of giving is back! And this year again LIBA is participating in full enthusiasm with the help of Radius. Here is an appeal to everyone - Please give whatever you can! It is the simple pleasures of life that matter when you give something to someone so selflessly. There is a box near the main entrance of the college where you can donate things. Childrens from an orphanage school will be visiting the campus on Friday. So I guess its the time to live our childhood once again :)
Many people from the college visited MITHRA home, a home for differently abled children. They made sure that they put a smile on every childs face there. Sometimes, by small gestures we touch so many lives - So true!

A girl from the Senior batch has given away her heart to a part timer. Her accomplices are on a lookout to get more details about the guy so that they can kidnap him asap!

LIFE after LIBA - Dont ignore the monster that gives the rosy picture

When I was studying in LIBA I had no clue what lies ahead. Good, bad or nightmares. I was not expecting too much though. But now that I have come out of the great institution I know. So I thought I would enlighten our people about few facts. Remember what I am gonna mention below is just a news and would not be the same for all the batches.

Let me start on a positive note. I am really happy that I got into one very good company without me knowing it. The reason being, I had no expectation. And right now I am glad that I got this opportunity which can take me to greater heights. But it was not fairy tale ending for all of them who had no clue about what they are stepping into. Few of my batch mates have already resigned. And few want to leave asap. They had 'treated' us for getting placed in those companies. I remember one friend of mine gave me treat for one week. :). What went wrong after that? It is just 6 months or even less after joining the company but they feel that they don't belong to the company which was once their dream company.

The answer is simple. It is our priorities and expectation that makes us choose our dream company. Once you step into reality everything changes. As a student from a reputed B-school all you need is a big fat salary. But nothing comes easily. There will be strings attached. The big fat salary will keep you happy only for a short while. Once you enter the company you will start looking for peace of mind. You no more want to boast about how much you get paid. Rather you want better work atmosphere. Reasonable work load. Good Personal and work life balance.

It was Del****e Interview. I made it to the last round. We were only four who made it to the last round and I was sure 2 out of four are getting placed that day. This means there was a 50-50 chance of me making into the company. They offered the highest package.They asked me so many questions for which I answered honestly. Then finally it was time for me to ask them question. I asked them whether working there would be fun! :) The interviewer gave me a disgusting look and replied little fun and lot of work. Then he asked me "Are you really serious about getting this job?". I smiled and came out of the interview. I am sure that is not the only reason I was rejected but I had absolutely no regret about my choice. I was laughing after the interview. I told my friends "Great escape". They said "You are mad". :) I always wanted my work place to be enjoyable. At least I should enjoy what I am doing. Reward & Salary are secondary.

In LIBA believe me you will get wonderful opportunities but choose wisely. Vital Committee head mam will want you to get an offer on the very first day. I am sure if you have little bit confidence in you then you will get it too. But that is not the most important thing. Look at long term and do as much research as possible before taking up the job. Even if the 'unsung hero' comes and tell you 'beggars cannot be choosers' never loose focus. Make sure you get the best. If you are good you will always be good. Believe that you are good and you have tremendous potential and that's the only reason you have come this far. [To be part of LIBA is no joke].

The Pan India Business plan competition os no longer just BPC, its got a name of its own - "Espire". Espire is being conducted in association with TiE and EDI. P.S. The name was suggested by none other than our beloved dean! The competition had a super grand inaugural last week with Cognizant vice chairman gracing the event as chief guest. Good show by "Next to D Cell". Best wishes to the team!

Insight '10
LIBA's flagship event Insight will be celebrating its 5th anniversary on 10,11th November at Chennai Trade Center. With the theme as "NH 2050 to the top: a runway powered by innovation", the team is on its feet since the D-day is not too far. Am sure the change of venue will bring in a fresh air in LIBA, since there was an over"dozzze" of Greenpark in previous years.

The Vital Committee
The brave souls of the vital committee are back from their most testing times. When one of the comarades was asked how he felt, he said "Its just started". All the best to them! The Vital committee is called vital for no small reasons :)

The "Teddy Bear" boy is working his ass out in the vital committee. When we asked him the secret of his energy; he smiled and replied with great energy "'Mac' makes it possible!". Guess, Steve jobs might be all smiles about his latest customer!
Sandhya is the latest entrant in the elite group of "Committed for life". Congratulations! Wish you great years ahead. The old group members "Bolero girl" and "Infosys guy from Rajasthan" will be happy with the group expansion :)

Basketball team+Adios and Welcome+The Campus Radar

This post marks the beginning of new term. And I know it has been long since last post. So from now on instead of long posts, I will try to update with short posts but more frequently. Waiting for more things to happen just kills the patience to post them :)

LIBA basketball team

Due to a large number of "sporty" people in both the batches, the students are taking everything to a more professional level. And the first step that comes to mind is have a good team with bright players. The basketball team of LIBA just got a new jersey. And the jersey takes care of the bright part for sure. Check out ;)

Its Addio time

Hazel and Akhilesh are leaving for Germany by the end of this month. And they will be back only after the batch leaves LIBA. So their farewell time just sat on a time machine and came to 'now'. Wish them a good time ahead.

Also, the students who came to LIBA 3 months back as a part of exchange program are leaving on 14th. Hope they had a wonderful time here. Stefano organized a trip to Ideal beach resort last weekend. 18 people from the batch went there and they surely had a fantastic time.

6 new exchange students have come to LIBA for this term. 4 french + 1 from Belgium + 1 German. And as always, the 'Caretakers' of the batch have slipped into their shoes and said "Happy to help" :)

The Campus Radar

A big group of Junior battalion marched to Pondicherry the last weekend. As per the sources, they had great time with the "nectar". Cheers!

Some cases of theft have been reported by the first years. 3 girls had cash stolen from their bags in the class. If he has already not gone for shopping, the thief is requested to return the money asap. There are better ways to get money that you will eventually learn in the management courses ahead. On a serious note, people are requested to take care of their stuff; though a theft inside a post graduate course classroom is ridiculous!

The spell of fever and food poisoning is back and people are lining up to claim insurance.

Biggest rage in boys hostel - Counter Strike - Day in and day out! Match between seniors and juniors is also on the cards. And once the girls hostel comes up,according to the players, they hope to infiltrate their base too. The Counter terrorist team has however promised to extend complete protection to all the girls :)

First years are planning for their class trip on 18th. The latest venue is Kodai.

From the Gossip Factory

The "Guitar boy" from first year and the girl who is his good friend are only friends and cared for each other just as friends - thats what they claimed. But when the girl came to know that the "Guitar boys" girl friend is coming to town, *poof* the happiness almost disappeared. As per the sources, the good friends have been having some problems recently.

Every since the "Precious stone" girl has gone home, "the guy whose name starts with a girl" has been behaving suspiciously. Because of this the precious stone girl has been worried that the guy would start another master plan that would target others including the crush of "Sleeping Child". So she makes the best use of the greatest technological invention called the Mobile phone to make sure everything is fine.

Moving forward with the hints on the crush of "Sleeping Child" - The girl is thin. :P

Dr. Love says the "Guy/Girl name"is head over heels for the "Tennis Star". She has got quite a fan following in first years.

The "NRI girl" has been making the best out of the time she gets with the "Exchange boy(s)". She wont miss them for too long though :)

The "German" guy is having a time of his life. And he has managed to confuse the reporters as well. As per the latest updates, the pendulum is now swinging between the "Classical dancer+Party Goer" girl and the girl with whom he shares something in common. On which side will the pendulum stop? Will the "Sleeping Child" do something to save his crush from the master plan? Keep following!

Convocation+Independence Day+The LIBA Storm

And finally I get to post from hostel! I know its been a long silence on this blog. And like a good manager, I have something to blame on. This time the real culprit is "Hostel Internet Connection". My browsers homepage is the sweet and simple Google page, and it takes minimum of 5 minutes to load it. I can't remember when I opened my Gmail inbox in standard view. Even this time, I opened the blog editing page and had a nice nap before I could type something on this!

But in spite of all these hurdles, yours truly makes it a point to update the unofficial identity of LIBA. *Applause Applause*

Batch 08-10 Convocation

No feeling is better than meeting your batch mates after leaving college. It was a sight of Nostalgia and Memories at the Convocation of 2008-10 batch. And trust me, it feels awesome when you meet your Seniors once again :)

Most of the conversations were based on everyones survival saga's on the job! A common tip from all the Seniors : Enjoy your college days, job is not as good as being a student. Advice taken.

This transformation has been an envy of many people, including the one below.

At the convocation, even the "Best management student of India" was not recognized by the finance professor of the college. Reason: Gone yesterday, Hair today :)

Independence Day Celebrations

Patriotism was in the air as LIBA celebrated the Independence day. The Circle did a commendable work with the arrangements. But the celebrations suddenly turned into a riot. Thanks to the rains. Order was finally restored after the intervention of a popular figure who stretched out his hands and the boisterous crowd ceased! Oh the miracles yoga can work on people!

The LIBA Storm

One fb status update from a Senior who passed out last year has taken the college by storm. There have been a truck load and titanic load of debate on it. The faculty has been equally taken aback by such a statement made on a Social Media website. I won't comment on this, as I have my personal opinions and this is a public blog. People do know to differentiate between right and wrong. :)

Immediately following the post and some 'likings', a mail was sent by head of Vital committee to the students. The 'Likings' have created a sense of anxiety among juniors if something was done out of personal enmity. However, the entire issue has opened a can of worms. It is indeed an unsaid protocol that we act responsibly outside college premises. In the end, we owe a lot to this institution! LIBA rocks \m/

The exam time table is out and it sent a shiver down many a spine among both the years. Natasha and Sonia were hospitalized 2 weeks back. Natasha returned to college few days back, while Sonia is still recovering. As per her latest fb update she is "minus an organ now". Wish her a speedy recovery. In the last post I promised to give hint about the lady love of "Sleeping Child". Well, here is the hint: The girl is very fair by her skin color. More hints to follow. :)

Two Mangalorean girls from the first year 'were' great friends. Their love for each other caught on like wild fire. Then the precious stone girl started becoming possessive about the "guy whose name starts with a girl". But now the great friends hardly speak to each other. Recently, one of the great friends is back after a long time.. will the distance worsen? Or will they patch up? Secret Reporter bets that the "guy whose name starts with a girl" will get dragged into this very soon! We're opening the betting for the grand finale. Secret reporter has discovered cases of rampant smuggling of chicken curry into the hostel. Not sure who's the supplier. Our detectives are currently investigating. A special edition will be out once we get the entire story.

The "Exchange" boy is reportedly fed up of being constantly spied by "NRI" girl. But then she is far from being "Bond... James Bond" ;)

So here I am back with some Scoop on Life @ LIBA! To start with, everyone is err.. cribbing.. though I never imagined LIBA students would crib about studies. But then this has been a shock for first years to take it in the first term itself :D *Evil laugh from the breed who has passed that phase*

Btw I got this cribbing info from my best reporter... the FB(I)! Everyone on it has put this as their status update at least once :P

The Circle is rolling

So its the time that the Circle starts rolling. An eventful 15th August has been planned out this Sunday. Here is a call for all the Patriotic Indians for a Patriotic Flag hoisting with some Patriotic songs and a Patriotic speech. Well, it was indeed truly Patriotic last year :)

The sports events are all lined up between the Juniors and the Seniors. May the best men win!

The Circle has been very peaceful and calm... which is so unlike the Circle! Is this the silence before the storm?

Next to "D" Cell celebrations

Next to "D" Cell is celebrating its 1st Anniversary on 12th August. They have managed to get the derby founder to give a pep talk on Entrepreneurship. Btw the new meeting spot of the members is the OAT. Guess the fresh air helps in getting back the brains that we leave outside classrooms :P

Students seem to be pretty happy about the celebrations coz they feel that this will not be compulsory like the guest lectures... but you never know :)

Sad that next to "D" Cell did not keep a booze party instead :D

The latest trend on Campus

The fashion radar beeped a long time back. Last time it beeped when it spotted a tattoo somewhere, and now it beeps coz of high intensity reflections.

The hair on the heads have been disappearing these days. As a result, the radar is facing high intensity reflections from the exposed area on the skull. Have to ask them to stop using whatever oil they are using :P

The fashion followers believe that shaving the head relieves pressure. A lighter head means lighter mind, and consequently improves performance. "Hitman" was among the first followers of the trend.

Apparently, this new phenomenon is called "hair today, gone tomorrow".

Hope this 'bald' phenomenon does not hit the girls, else Dr.Love will feel jobless.

The "Sleeping Child" wins!

No no.. the "Sleeping child" is still kicking and alive. This is to remember his achievements that went unidentified and unnoticed with the other stories of LIBA. He is the mentor of the above mentioned trend group. And he was the winner of the "Best good looking boy in Seniors" contest that was carried out during the Signature Campaign. Unfortunately, the junior girls feelings never got publicly announced. So I chose to announce it here. *Clap Clap*

The "Sleeping Child" has a crush on one of the Junior Girls. Who is the lucky girl? I will disclose the hints on posts to follow. If you identify the girl, you will win a dinner date with both of them :P

The Campus Radar

The L&T guy had an accident 3 days back and suffered from a badly sprained left hand. He left college in a huff and met with an accident. Wish him speedy recovery.

The prof who broke all hell loose on the first years got transformed after sitting under a tree and made his followers happy. A ship building game did this magic. The students were all praise for him after the game. He even threw a soft drink party for all the students in the canteen. I wish this was a compulsory guest lecture for the second years as well :P

The search for the transformational magic tree has been started.

"Dont be so Jiby!" is the new adjective people have started using following some series of incidents that took place while Jiby was helping build a ship.

Secret Reporter is under a huge scrutiny - In risk of his/her life! There are a number of spy agents out to assassinate him/her for the gossip sold out.

The "NRI" girl has been all over the "Exchange" guy to woo him. As per Dr. Love, she confesses of knowing him more than anyone else.

Dr. Love can smell another cross border connection happening and can already feel the Globalization. This connection involves the "Muscle" guy.

As per the reporters, the "Cloud" girl does not like the guys of her batch. Radar spots her around the Senior guys and says *beep* :)

A big gift was given by the "flame" guy to his 'best friend'. The size of the gift exceeded the size of the recipient but then they are just good friends. :)

Many people in the college have fallen victims to blood sucking monsters and their menace.

Also, the water and food have lead to numerous cases of Cholera, Diarrhea, Food Poisoning, Jaundice etc.

Here is a bit of Information which may be very Useful:

Every LIBA'ite has been insured under 'Accident and Medical Insurance'. The insurance cover is upto `30,000. (Both - Cashless and Reimbursement)
Every student has an identity number which needs to be specified while making a claim. The number is available with Sudhakar Sir.
To claim the insurance amount, the affected person has to be hospitalized in a hospital with proper facilities. Eg. B.R. Hospital on G.N. Chetty Road.
Go to the insurance department in the hospital and inform them beforehand for a cashless claim.
Our 3rd Party Insurance provider is "Cholamandalam". Check their website for a list of hospitals where you can avail cashless treatment.

Binu is in hospital, Praveen was discharged from hospital today, Shweta is suffering from Jaundice, Innumerable people are suffering from Food poisoning and Diarrhea...

Its been long time since the last post, blame it on Kotler for saying so many things to the B2B professor. Its been one hectic week for marketing people. But have to admit, at the end of B2B class, every person in the room saw himself as the best potential sales guy. This week, its the finance people who will be playing 'Survival of the fittest'. By the way, I got an ultimate solution for the mosquito problem reported in last blog - keep the door and windows shut. :P

From Vital Committee

Father and the head of vital committee had a meeting with the Second years to ring a bell and say "Its almost here! Start preparing!" :)

So now, its almost the time to gulp air, remember all the gods possible and gather courage to touch those books lying in the shelf. Some spiders have actually made it their home sweet home. Will feel sorry for them. And yes, hope for the best with "Its almost here" part!

The Campus Radar

(This section is because I have some things to write but they don't fall under any section. This place is dedicated to those updates)

It was the "first" weekend off for the first years and they fell in love with it like their first love! People including the Italian gang were seen running off to the old favourites - Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram.

The junior CR has taken one step forward compared to senior CR. A cake was cut by the first years as a tribute to the Friendship day today. People just need a reason to eat cakes :P

The "German" guy who shares his last name with a first year girl finally got his long awaited German shoes. Apparently the shoes caused him a lot of mental trauma. The company took about 2 weeks to make them and another 4 weeks for them to reach him. As a result, the theme teams morale was affected as their leader din't have shoes to slip into. Now that they have arrived he has slipped into his leaders shoes! A Mocktail was reportedly sponsored by him to celebrate the ocassion :)

The "Classical dancer + Party goer" (the + sign was to show polar differences of life) girl of the junior batch is single and is looking for eligible seniors. She finds her batch boring and wants someone hot, handsome and smart. A Vital committee member and a "next to D Cell" member are among the front runners :P

Something is brewing between the "NRI" girl and the "Exchange" boy reports Dr. Love. Time: Post midnight - She was last seen dropping by at the place of the "Singer" girl . The "Exchange" guy dropped her. Reportedly, she has been attending a lot of firangi parties :)

They were found in.... err many people have intruded their privacy before. Hence, Dr. Love decides to respect it and no more information will be disclosed here.

The "Teddy bear" boy has been upset due to a facebook fan page created for him. He did not like it and the page was deleted on his complaint. Ever since, He has stopped speaking with the creator of that page. The reason was indeed not big enough to affect a good friendship.

Who will the classical dancer zero in on? Will geographical boundaries stop the NRI girl? Keep following ;)

Vital Committee + Insight surprise + "Next to D" Cell

Well, am having an exam tomorrow. But this is the time when you feel like doing everything in the world except touching the book. This post is dedicated to that feeling :)

Preparations done: Plugged in the Mortein liquid repellent and burnt the Mortein coil and sprayed some HIT and applied Odomos like a beauty cream. Still these blood sucking monsters are trying their best to find a drop or two of my blood as if they have worn some anti-biological warfare suits. A mosquito massacre is being forecast in the next 15 minutes. These were some exciting updates straight from LIBA Hostel.

Prayer: RIP for the souls of those slaughtered in the BFA exam.

Finally, a week worth living for people who have taken Finance and left B2B :P

Vital Committee Update

The Vital Committee had the brochure photo shoot last week. The Juniors were asked get into the 'snow white' look. And the Seniors were into the good ol Insight/Beacon/CG dress code :)

Most of the seniors have become a bit too healthy to get into the suits comfortably. Chennai is indeed doing wonders I guess. Have to mention the great job of co-ordinating the photo shoot done by the Juniors in the Vital committee. Keep it up!

Insight Surprise

Would rather term this as a shock to most Juniors. Thats what happened when the 120 people of Insight team were called in 302 to meet the 'Captain of the Ship'. An organized court marshal was carried on every team of Insight in front of all 120. The meet generated a lot of buzz on campus as the proceedings of the meet were least expected. And the captain just managed to scare the hell out of everyone.

"Next to D" Cell

The newly inducted Juniors in the "Next to D" Cell have rolled up their sleeves to offer one of the success stories of Annual Alumni meet - The Mocktails! Its going to be Legen... wait for it... dary! The Seniors have been very happy about the Entrepreneurial touch the Junior batch has bought with it ;)

The "Fathers favourite son" was noticed to be missing from hostel for 3 days. Investigation is still on.

As per the sources, there was a serious and loud war of words between the usually silent "Sound" guy and the fastest speaking girl in LIBA. The issue has not been disclosed to protect the privacy of the fights :)

Dr. Love is tired of the first wall breakers. Any interesting updates on them are welcome.

This is what happens when you suddenly fall in love with a water bottle! (This was the first time when a bottle was actually seen carried by this Vital Committee member... aah so huge!)

Freshers 2010 + Spot the Giants contest + The gossip Factory

Waka Waka! The hangover of Freshers 2010 is still dancing in the Cerebellum of my Brain. One hell of an event it was.

Freshers 2010 - Mismatch

This time the organizers were worried for some different reason - All performances should be accommodated within the time in hand. A mouth dropping 23 performances is what we witnessed. 360 Degrees did a wonderful job of putting the entire event together. *Applause Applause* for Kavita and Co. A special mention of adorable job done by the Emcee on the stage.. Self praise is such an awesome thing you see :)

The Juniors showed amazing enthusiasm and energy with their participation. Some of the best performances were witnessed. And there are indeed a lot of Singers, Musicians and Dancers - LIBA's got Talent! ;)

The theme was "Mismatched" by Sanghita.

Even the Rain god gets a special mention for holding up the water till dinner time :)

The Freshers was an entertaining event in its own way; for Performances and Controversies.

"Bhabhiji" was the talent champ hands down. A very good Singer and one of the best classical dancers in LIBA :D

The Lover boy found 2 new Senior crushes during Freshers. One being a girl from Calcutta and the other being... ;)

This year at the freshers, the Juniors pipped out the Seniors in a certain skill. Cheers! :P

Birthday Wishes

Its been a week dedicated to Mumbai girls for 2nd year... Selvina and Navisha celebrated their Birthdays. Also, Saurabh and Santiago from first year celebrated their Birthdays. Have a great year ahead. God Bless :) Due to Sunday, Santiago was saved from Birthday torture in college.

Freshers Theme announced

This year, the theme for the freshers has been announced as "Mismatch". Pretty thought provoking theme if you ask me. The first picture that comes to my mind is Mundu (The first years will know what is mundu soon :P) and the Raymond Suit. I give you a FREE tip (Monsoon sale on Pandoras Box) Close your eyes, pick whatever you can and wear it. Just make sure that it doesn't look normal :P

And yes, 15th is the last day for Signature Campaign. All those who do things in last minute, this is a wake up call! For any inquiry on consequences you can ask the Senior with "Silver lining". Am sure he still remembers the freshers day :)

The eldest girl of the batch left the vital post of the vital committee for unknown reasons. The drivers seat has thus undergone extreme swapping. There are new foriegn exchange students in campus. Apparently some of the 2nd years have taken charge of them according to one of our reporters. They have also gone to one our favourite hangout place Pratap, roof top bar behind our college. The previous batch foriegn exchange student along with "In-charge" students got to go to lot of private parties and used to have good time almost everyday. Dunno how it is gonna be with these Italian foriegn exchage students and their Indian buddies. :)

Response of the signature campaign though not upto the expectation atleast united few of the 1st years and second years I think. Even though ragging is not right this signature campaign was not exactly ragging. This is one way to mingle with the second year. I am sure knowing second years would be fruitful in the long run. If you still haven't mingled with any start now. Do it your way if not through signature campaign.

Is Partying allowed in LIBA:

If you are asking permission for having good time it is not gonna happen. :)

After spending one year in LIBA if you still haven't done anything crazy (Warning: This can be addictive and can result in poor grades) then there are few things you can do. Have you heard of night life in Chennai. There are lot of places only very few people go. Let me reveal it to our college people. If you are staying in hostel then get a late slip on a saturday night saying movie or something and get out. If you don't drink then there are not many places you can go to. Though you have an all night cafe in Residency in T-nagar[ Not residency towers] and midnight masala restuarant next to kodambakam bridge behind our college mainly for non drinkers. If you have a bike after eating you can go sit in the beach relax and come back in the morning. If you drink then the places[Near our college] you can go to

1. Star Rocks, In Spring Hotel[To locate it use Google]...This is like a club kind of place with a dance floor. Good DJ and major celebrity event happens during some weekends. Couple entry but if you are stag and wanna enter get my number from Chaitik and call me. I can get you in for sure. Club rules apply. [Shoes and decent dress]. Minimum amount required per couple Rs.750- 1500

2. Paasha , Park hotel. One of the best club some say. I differ from it though. Good D.J. Mandatory couple entry. Otherwise you can go to Leather Bar in the same hotel which is not that happening though. Couple Entry Rs:1000

If these places seems costly then I would suggest some cheaper happening places in my next post.

Its been a week of Birthdays. Naveen and Ophelia from first year and Shyamala and "WWF CR" Kane from second year celebrated their Birthdays. It's Pauline's Birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday to you all! God bless :)

Must mention that Naveen got a special treatment from hostel guys... call it his rebirth, coz he almost lost his life through those kicks :) He was last seen without his bums :P Welcome to LIBA!

Whats in the name

This is for the people who are still wondering why the blog is named "bastocollins". Well, 100 years ago, when the people of LIBA were so immersed in their lives and were wondering what was going on with the other 119 people, our Senior Basto Collins came up with this idea of a blog. Even though it failed to make it to the list of top 10 ideas of 2009, am sure it just missed it by an iota. Over the years, he relentlessly persuaded every story and every adventure from every part of LIBA. And he never ever said "I hate love stories" :)

The blog name has been retained as a tribute to him.

Love is in the air

Hope you all must have read the Season of Love post. However those stories were known to all. This post is one step forward. Dr. Love says "The Juniors are seeming to be one step ahead of Seniors". One month down, and the air is already smelling love. Dr. Love says S and R have been struck by cupid. It is also evident that J and B have been almost struck by cupid. Any claims proving this wrong will get free consultation from Dr. Love :P

Some highlights

DP distributed sweets in college and in hostel. He is a Chacha now. I had my lunch on his sweets, they were awesome :D Thanks DP! We have "Sweet" dreams now... Hope you become a chacha again! (Hindi Gyaan: Chacha = Uncle)

The vital committee has finally selected the battalion of the 2010 Regiment of LIBA. Hope the selected people give their best to the committee. All the best guys!

Got a pic of the juniors exploring the beauty of Chennai. And they went to the most beautiful place - Beach! P.S. Going to marina on a full moon night is among the "must do" things while you are at LIBA :)

LIBA's fresh Talents

The first years have got pretty good set of talented people. We got a glimpse of this when Jaggu, Indira and Naveen decided to kill some time in the common room. While Jaggu and Naveen are good Guitarists, Indira is one of the best voices on campus! Am sure this is just a glimpse, and there are many more people to have "LIBA's got Talent" ;)

This reminds me of the Dance, Music and Drama club that is "Under Construction". Apparently, the founders are awaiting Governing Body's approval. Looking forward to it... and most importantly looking forward to the reincarnation of our own Rock Band :)

The Signature Campaign

The Great Indian Signature Campaign has been witnessing a drop in signature demands recently. However, the good news is that the interactions between the batches have risen up to the next level (read beyond signatures). Must mention about the best cheer leading done by some girls. They did it awesomely in front of 100 odd people @ OAT. Needless to mention the act was applauded and they got signatures from every senior present there. (Yes the Juniors can thank me for pointing out the trick :P )

The Season of Love

Am a little late in breaking these news here, but these do deserve a mention!

As per my most trusted reporter 'Facebook' (Err.. I just exposed one of my reporters) the "Bolero Girl" has been hooked and booked for life. A kind of 8 richter scale earthquake for most of the batch. Here is wishing you all the happiness!

The "WWF CR" and the "Silent girl" confessed their commitment with a lovey pic.

And the "Infosys guy from Rajasthan" got Engaged. The news was given out with an engagement pic to my reporter

The "Circle" Saga

The Circle has been passing through some turbulent times off lately.

One of the 'expected' lead member left the circle due to some internal committee issues. The entire episode is still under investigation by CBI and the Interpol. According to the sources, the "tennis star" was having some difference of opinion with others on board. The issue was bought up in a secret underground meeting and the resignation happened. Also the other "Bashed up guy" left the circle. However this Circle episode was kinda expected but the resignations weren't. Hope the Circle rebounds back with full throttle. :)

The "Vital" Committee news

One of the vital committee members a.k.a. "Happiness" a.k.a. "Fragrance" has been retired hurt due to a road stunt. Hope she gets well soon. The vital committee was disappointed by the response from the junis. However, after a doubt clearance session they got a decent response. Will the vital committee get equally capable baton carriers?

This is my first post as the new author and I feel super excited to carry forward the baton of gossips..

Welcome!

Firstly, a warmest welcome to the Batch of 2010-12 on behalf of all the just-promoted-seniors!

Its been 20 days since the inception of the new batch and the campus air is already full of anxiety. The great Indian Signature Campaign has kicked in with Juni's running around and reciting their introductions for a million times in 1.5hrs (thats the time for lunch break)

And not to forget the secret "spot-the-new-hottie" pass time of both the batches. Must appreciate the efforts the juniors are taking to get the signatures. Great going comrades! ;)

When Juniors become Seniors

And the "Seniors" are back from the Summer internships. Welcome to LIBA version 2.0!

One of the most interesting parts of the B-school life is when you get promoted to the post of seniors. The fact - There are whole new set of expectations and responsibilities in every step you take. The interesting fact - Its super cool! Be the lions of the jungle, guide the juniors, give tips that you never really followed.. etc. Did we ever realize the importance of our signature before the signature campaign? :P

The committees and clubs are gearing up to recruit the juniors to carry forward their legacies.

But the bad part is when the sections A and B are no longer section A and B except for the core subject. Will miss those days..

The hunt for Secret Reporters

To get all the gossip and news and action and drama to this blog, I need some secret reporters from the first years. The identity of these people will not be disclosed anywhere.

I had gone to LIBA before 15 days. I didn't feel like holding the pillar and crying rather I felt like I am still a student. Hope it was true. One news is that Ladies hostel is coming up fast. The work has started in a full fledged manner. Soon it should be ready.

How useful is MBA in your work life?[Just a perspective]

I could meet few of my batch mates there. In fact I had asked them to come. We went together to have lunch. Usually someone gives a treat for no reason. It was me this time. Treating for no reason happens only in college life. Even there people where talking about grades. Gosh... What a fever this LIBA has created in this school kids. I mean B-School kids. I wanted to tell my buddies that they have got a job and nobody is gonna scold them for not getting good grades. But I let them discuss as it felt like I am still in college. I would soon write about my whole life in LIBA as different episodes along with some interesting stories. Then you will understand why I want to study in LIBA again. Believe me it was the best part of my life.

Life in LIBA...Was it Fun? Definitely. Was it useful? Yes because it got me a dream Job. Can I apply what I learned in MBA in my work life? Hell no... No way! Whatever our professor told is the most important seems to be least important here. There are no interesting case studies which is gonna turn around the business of the Company I work in. It will be shear common sense and your logical or radical thinking which is gonna be fruitful here. All these theories and case studies are good only according to our professors. Practically it cannot be applied. According to one of our professor for everything in this world there is a solution through data. Mostly what all these data can predict are same as that of weather forecast. They are right if the going is good. Otherwise common sense can be more useful than these Market researches. [It is my view and I don't have problem with people who believe otherwise].

Batch Trip - LIBA 2008-2010 batch
CHRYSALIS 2010:

Is Chrysalis 2010 a great success? At the short span of time given to the organizing committee, they did a wonderful job. The decoration was good. Even though not many people came for the LIBA's Cultural fest every competition had good number of participants. Cash prize was pretty decent. Derek 'O' Brain(Last years quiz master) was replaced by our own quiz master "Subbu". He did a good job. Jam session was replaced by our guitarist playing some decent songs.

The broken friendship Tale:

It was a friendship that started in 2008. Till the end of 2009 these two were together. They have "Delhi" in common. But now what happened? No idea. They no longer see each other. The guy of this tale is replaced by another friend. The girl is yet to be replaced.

Christo's Party:

On 10.03.2010 Christo's B'day party happened in Dhabha Express, Senatop's road. 82 people from 2nd year and 5 people from 1st year attended the party. It was a buffet and everyone liked the food. I went in the end for the party. While coming back I heard that few Christo's favorite girls were missed out. Especially two 'R's weren't invited whom should have been on the top of the invite list. Christo, how can you miss them? :)

Trip to kodai:

First years are leaving to kodaikanal tomorrow. Close to 70 of them are leaving by train. Happy journey to all of them. Enjoy the trip and then when you all return do all the assignments. :)

Is Truth Ugly?

When some people grow up they tend to become more like adamant kids. This even include teachers. They hardly know about forgiveness. They tend to innovate ways to fight so as to prove that they are superior.They become stubborn. They start to believe that everyone should behave in the way they want to. They forget that even others have expectations. For them happiness lies in the fulfillment of their expectation. Learning for them stops at this stage. All that they do is to justify whatever they do. Now people who are reading this don't think about someone else, it may be you?

Corporate Governance 2010 + Sports Day+ PV's Secret alliance + Trip to orphanage

32 days more for my stay in LIBA to end. Planning to enjoy every bit of it.

Corporate Governance 2010 was conducted in Green Park Hotel successfully on 20-02-2010. It had few high profile speakers and was completely organised by students. Satyam Computers as usual was the highlight through out the conference. There was attendance every half an hour. :). Even the speaker in the valedictory session agreed that the morning session was little bit boring. The after noon session was good. LIBA song was sung in the end. It sounded good. Nice job composers. Photo Session at the end of the conference lasted for more than one hour. ;)

CG 2010

Sport day is going to happen on 27th February, Saturday. Games are being conducted since last month. The organizers are very effective in conducting the matches. ;). Otherwise all the matches would have been completed within a week. Good managers he he. Also guys can't walk half naked in boys hostel as girls are allowed to come inside hostel till the sports day. Some pairs make full use of this opportunity by spending quality time together. Playing together, watching T.V together, doing assignments together and also chatting together inside hostel. For the pairs who haven't made full use of it hurry up. Two more days to go. he he. ;)

B-School Football Team

It was a wonderful thing that happened in LIBA. A soccer team in LIBA which competed with arts college students and even won a match. Awesome. Thanks to the management especially Prof. Pandey who was instrumental in creating history. Management gave the football team jersey with players name printed on it. Being a part of team, I am really grateful to the people who gave me a chance to compete in a tournament after 3 years.

Story 1:

There lived a girl named PV who started liking one of the 'firangi'(Foreigner) who had come to LIBA as an exchange student. So what she did was the interesting part. She found a way to know whether that guy is really interested in Indian girls. So she started saying stories that "My friend has a crush on that guy". But soon when the other girl came to know about this she totally denied this development. That way the truth was revealed. When asked about this she refused to comment on it. Also when asked about PV's friend, she said they are just "Good Friends".

Story 2:
Teady Bear boy and RBI girl are back in action. They are more active now-a-days. They don't care about professors any more. Class is like a meeting place for them. They should be awaiting the batch trip this Sunday. Oh! Forgot to mention about that. All the 2nd years are going on a batch trip organised by Saint of LIBA(Sorry Buddy) and Mom of Asha Niwas. Hope to have lot of fun there.

BEACON 2010 - LIBA's Ethics conference happened on 30th Jan 2010. Few speakers were really good. People who missed the conference were asked to pay Rs.3000 fine. An alternative I thought as a punishment would be spending two whole days in library during holidays. This will be helpful to the student. [Just my idea. I am not opposing anyone's idea]

Holiday mood has set in. Christmas holidays for 2nd years starts from 21st December. As most of them had booked their tickets on 22nd night I am expecting a biggg bash in the hostel on 21st night. :) Few guys started partying tonight only. :)

Around 8 p.m, I reached the birthday party in Dhaba express, Nungambam. :) The party had already started.

We all (Around 20 ppl) had a wonderful dinner. Thanx to Soumya and Debo. They hosted the party really well. Whole of Asha Niwas 2nd year girls was there for the party. Jijo eating for tomorrow also(10 servings saying that it was a small plate - True reason: No mess tomorrow he he :)), CR coming to the party to see if we are eating properly, singing birthday song for people sitting in some other table & Soumya raising a false alarm about losing her debit card, was the highlights of the party. There was a photo session after the party too.

Jijo likes Pink. Why? (Special report by reporter PJ) - Just for fun. :)

For the birthday party Jijo wore a pink colour shirt and then he ordered for a pink coloured ice cream. Even though the hotel people did not have it, he made them go to some other shop and buy pink colour ice cream for him. Why Jijo likes pink? Does he like everything that is pink? Reporter PJ was also wearing pink colour dress. :)

Today is Sofia Saxena's(1st Year) B'day. Wish her :)

21st December 2009 will be a big day for "Next to D cell" head. He is presenting a paper in IIT,Chennai. He is the only student who is going to present his paper!!. Wondering why? Others are professors. Great isn't it. :) I wish him all the very best to come home with a medal.

Twilight New moon review and beyond:

Yesterday I watched this movie Twilight New moon. I hated the ending as much as I enjoyed the whole movie. But I should say don't miss it. Its worth watching. :)

Having already seen Twilight, I was keen to watch this movie. Reason behind me hating the ending is not because it wasn't great but I enjoyed the Jacob's(Lead role in this movie) character so much that I didn't want him to lose. What an unconditional love? Its absurd that Edward(Hero) the vampire ditches Bella(Heroine) for some stupid reason and then saying its for her good. Even though the director couldn't show the exact emotion of Bella(As described as pain in the book) when she loses Edward, Jacob,the werewolf clouds it with his abundance of love and care. When compared with Jacob's act even Edward who is willing to sacrifice his life assuming that Bella is dead, seems like not a great deed.

As this twilight series by Stephenie Meyer was so interesting and knowing that Eclipse and Breaking dawn, which are the 3rd and 4th part of the book had already been released, with no time I got the summary of those. I was curious to know more about Jacob, but was saddened by the fact that Jacob continued to get only pain in-return for his love irrespective of whatever he did. Viewing him as a friend, he will be a dream friend that any girl would imagine. When Bella says to Jacob that "I have greater love for Edward than you" she didn't know how much pain it can cause Jacob. Even though it was a fictional story the author has brought in so many wonderful emotions related to real life into it. Whaa...!

Is truth ugly?

Like some say weirdness and ambiguity can never be separated form clarity and perfectness.

Some define quality is the most important. Class is what stands. Crab! If this is true then how "No reel corner" also called as "Kutties" gets more business than the original "Kutties". Its only because of its location. The original kutties is just located few yards away but people from Loyola got used to "No reel Corner". Original Kutties serve far better "Bread omlette",Juice & milk when compared with NRC but footfalls are less. So my point is situation decides who is the winner at times(This is a important word here. Without this my whole argument will be flawed) rather than quality ,class and whatever it is!!

Small fact:
"No reel Corner" or "Reel Corner" Recently one of our LIBA family member was cheated by the NRC shop guy(Not the restaurant guy). He gave him Rs.100 and the shop keeper said he gave only Rs.50. He didn't wanna fight there so he came and told me. So people remember be careful about even small things like this.

Do you know(Permission Based):

Today I got a mail from an unknown mail Id which had photo of a 1st year girls full name written more than 50 times, as an attachment. It also said that a 2nd year guy is deeply in love with this girl who is from Tamil Nadu but speaks malayalam. The guy also knows both the languages. (Advantage) Even though he is not scared to tell her about his love, he doesn't wanna lose her too. I know that guy is an awesome character and I pray that his desire should come true. :) I wish this story gets a fairy tale ending.

Day before yesterday I had gone to Sea Shell restaurant with few friends and there came a girl and a guy(Came little late) from our college and sat along with us. We had a decent(quality) but expensive food. After the dinner while we were returning I asked the guy sitting at my back in bike "Does she has a boy friend?" "Are those two who came late, couples?". The guy who recovered from an arm fracture recently was shocked to know that I am not aware of the fact. :) He said "She is not 'sing-al' anymore. She has found her love of her life and even her parents know about it. Cool isn't it. Good to know about the love story within the same class. (Section A).

Is truth ugly?

I heard about a guy from first year who refused to sit near a girl in the class just because she was not beautiful and not his friend. He went on to remove his chair which was near that girl during the class and sat some where else. Even though this happened long back I still wanted to write about this because these kind of things are the worst of behavior. Either you are discriminating or you are a racist. This is not cool. If some girl/guy treats you like an untouchable how will you feel. But I cannot reveal your identity as people will start judging you. Try not to hate anyone because of their appearance. Remember appearance is deceptive. Too much of advice huh. Once in a while I will write stuffs like this. Please bear with me. :)

Christmas celebration in LIBA happened on 6th December(St.Nicholas Day). The event started around 6:30 P.M. There were children from a school who enjoyed the function along with 2nd year students and few 1st year students.Professor Fernando had organized the function. Father Christie, Director LIBA had arranged for a wonderful dinner after the function. When everyone was expecting rain deer, Davis dressed as Santa Claus came with substitute Santa 'CR' in his bike. They distributed sweets to everyone. Carols were melodious. Prof. Fernando who is a good writer show-cased his singing talent too. :)

Our buddy in first year who seems not so small, very tall and extremely athletic which you cannot make out by his appearance has fallen for a girl in the recent "Next to D cell" event. This guy who is also a follower of this blog was attracted by this girl who is from the 'State of mirchi'(Not our college). Also he confessed that he gets attracted by tall and beautiful women younger than him. Hope he finds one soon. Dude don't worry about the girl till the exams get over. You can spend time on this during the Christmas vacation thinking about this. :)

I always wonder why some people are so being scared to own what they say. If you can't say it before a crowd or before the concerned person then don't say it. If they hear what you said from someone else it will be even more bad. But if you don't care if whom you are talking about will come to know then go ahead. Theory of connecting dots will act accordingly.

Some people came and told me its high time you should spread rumors about yourself. Come on people! How can I ? ;) But I am sure if I am taking someone for a date the world will know. I have nothing to hide and I am not scared. :)

Yesterday was Harsha's B'day(1st year).

Business plan competition was a great success. LIBA created 8 entrepreneurs in India.

How many in-house entrepreneurs did LIBA create? Why can't you and I start a business without people appreciating the idea[You should believe in your idea not others]?

Yesterday I had met two real estate brokers who quoted commercial land price anywhere between 50 lakhs to 1.25 crore in main areas in chennai. 600 square feet land in Ashok Nagar cost 20 lakhs. Will this rates come down? This might seem scary for a middle class person but let me tell you about a person I met.

Rexy owns a small shop named "Jesu Fancy stores" in Vadapalani which is in a rented space. The shop seemed small but the items that was for sale seemed attractive. I along with my guide started conversing with her. She has 3 children. Married but living alone. No family support as she is from Delhi. Her Tamil knowledge is decent. She along with her 3 children had come to chennai for living in 2003. Now she manages three things. Shop, tuition for children nearby & she does interior design for houses. I saw some of her work and it was excellent. I am sure she will make it big soon.

If a lady without any support can achieve in life why cant you and I do it? May be "Next to D cell" should bring such unnoticed entrepreneurs to give a talk or something. They can inspire students for sure.

Let me give one good thing about Harsha as it was her birthday yesterday. I think she is a modest female, who at least smiles at you anytime you see her outside if she knows you. This I think is a very good attitude. Why this becomes a good attitude? Because there are people who will know you, who used to chat with you but still will smile only if they are in some need. :)

Day before yesterday I received a mail from my operation professor Dr.Arun Madapusi saying what I am doing in this blog is "Terrific". Dr. Chandrashekar Pandey is a HR professor in LIBA. He is also incharge of the cultural & sports club of LIBA. When you talk to him you will never feel like you are talking to such a big guy. He is one professor whom you can easily mingle with and learn too.

Also everyone of us should know that "Vital Committee" is working hard to accomplish the task they have taken up. Everyone lead by Prof. Susan Thomas is doing a wonderful job. First years who are helping in accomplishig the task and other vital committee members who are working selflessly needs to be appreciated for their good work. Is Truth Ugly?

I don't want to name or give hint about people who are doing this but I want to put this message across. There are one or two people who already started blaming vital committee for some reason or the other. I would request you all to be patient. You might not know how hard they are working for this and the pressure they are under. They have worked hard for almost one and a half years. Don't use your "freedom to express" to break their hearts. Before saying anything remember even you had a chance to take up this mission. If you feel its very easy even now you can do it.

NewPANdoRasBox - Next biggest thing

One close friend of mine just called me and told me how different and interesting is this New PANdoRas Box. What are the changes that are made to this new version? There are more than one author. You will never know who is writing the story that is featured in this new version. The stories are purely fictional(based on true events) and will be opposite to AOC. As I have seen lot of cry babies in the past I have decided to keep the access to the content totally exclusive [Which means if I believe that you are a very close friend(Friend is 'ok') of any of the cry babies your access to the blog will be restricted]. The blog readers are expected to maintain confidentiality about the whole story, at least its origin. Ah..no its just a fictional story so why maintaining confidentiality. Spread the word if you wish along with the message that the content is not true. he he :). This will also prevent my buddies to copy my original idea very easily. [I am seeing so many people "showing their innovation".] he he.

One day I was chatting with a first year guy and he showed me a mail in their yahoo group. There is a girl in first year girl named "Neelambari" who sends birthday greeting to everyone in her class with a message. It is "Awesome".:) [Hope it is a news to many second years].

Also the concept of celebrating all the birthdays of their classmates at month end by buying cake for all of them by one section people sounds totally cool. :)

As the page view reached 10,000 today, I thought I will reveal a truth not many knows. :)
Did any one ever thought what was the puzzle I was talking about? What was the reason behind this blog? A guy who even felt giving 'task' to first years not a right thing suddenly started commenting on other people and their activities? I still remember when we all went to pondicherry last year few of my friends started discussing gossip using hints and codes. I absolutely had no idea what they were talking. :). Also I had nothing to say as I hardly give a damn about what other people are doing.[ If they are strangers to me.].

So why did I change all of the sudden? Even after knowing that what I am going to write may hurt someone why I went ahead and wrote the gossip column? I wanted to communicate a message which normally goes above the head for certain people.

What is the message?
When I used to talk to few people they used to tell me lot of stories about other people. The stories ranges from "You know the guy from Kolkata and girl from Delhi are totally into each other" to "Dude do you know P & J have gone together for a fun trip. You know what they gonna do there...he he he". If I try to defend saying you might not know whats going on between them, they might be good friends too, they wouldn't believe. It is like addiction that people believe the perspective of others just because it appears to be true[Theory of connecting dots]. If I see something and write about it or I ask the concern person and say about that to my friend that is different. But assuming things just because 'it seems obvious' is not a right thing. At least the people who are spreading the news should know it might be a wrong news. Lot of people even judge others based on this rumours. I firmly believe saying half truth is worse than a lie.

I am a victim of this gossip. When I was studying 11th standard I used to talk to a girl who was 10 years older than me. One day my parents called me and scolded me for talking to her. My dad asked me "Are you in love with that girl?''. Then he went on to say "You can't go out of the house from now on". I was very angry because of this incident, as I never even imagined such things. I used to wonder how can people relate a guy with a girl 10 years elder than him. My parents who never used to believe what others say before this believed this gossip which was based on nothing.

Here is the answer you all are looking for...I saw this movie "Life of David Gale". I was very impressed with the movie. I thought I would do something of that sort so as to make people understand what they are doing is not right. I did it through the internet to make a point that when you speak about people at their back is equivalent to publishing it. Every day you and I do this when we spread half truth about others. The thing I wish to differentiate here is 'When some one is being rude to you and you going on to say that to others is different from you hearing from someone that other person is rude". So I acted like a 'mean' person writing in the blog about whatever I hear about people, calling them using different names etc. which I would otherwise consider as 'silly'. The responses for all this were funny. Some replied to my blog using status messages, some using facebook chat, some came and spoke to me about it and some went on to delete my comment on their picture in orkut to show their anger. I couldn't reveal this truth as I kept my objective in mind. I am very sorry if I had hurt you all in the process of proving a point.

So what happens to "Pandoras Box" now? [FYI: Pandoras Box according to myth was a beautiful jar given to a beautiful lady and was asked not to open. This lady out of curiosity opened and it unleashed terrible things on mankind. According to myth she took out every object out of the jar that causes terror except 'Hope' .] Help me decide whether to change the name or not by answering the poll below:

Note: Even though I regretted writing about few good people I don't feel bad writing bad about people like "Hunter" and few others whom I have heard bitching about others. How many people they would have bad mouthed?. They at least deserve this. grrr...

There is a guy in LIBA hostel(B-floor) who went alone to bar on a week day(Yesterday) and drank more than 4 beers from Hotel prataps :)[That's what he said. :)]. You might think what is the big deal about it?. Four beers and still standing.....hmmm...not bad. But here is what he did...

I was walking back towards the hostel and suddenly I heard somebody screaming from a long distance. I thought it was some crazy guy shouting on the road[He was really loud]. My friend who was walking next to me turned back and this big fellow ran and came near us[Outside the campus]. The big fellow was a totally different person then.[Usually he appears to be so calm]. It looked like he just realised that he has a big physic. You should have seen his body language. Really funny. He he. This guy who has already got his summer placement through college was acting like a "I am drunk" person scaring a batch mate who was passing by and chasing him. I should say it was funny. he he he. Doing crazy** things among your friends when you are drunk is ok but doing it on the road man...Your act is joining the 'Crazy top list'.

What is "Crazy Top list"?

This is a list of activities in the campus that are really crazy. Till date "Cutting cake for no reason in college" by "Mixed 5 + 1"* [I didn't know that there was a sixth person in that group initially] occupies "number 1" position. This act of screaming and running on the road by "I am drunk" buddy breaks into Top 10. The actual position in the list will be known soon. There will be no fun if everybody in the campus starting to act like 50 year old. :)

JTG : In school as assembly leader, I used to say the prayer. Usually prayer would be followed by national anthem.One day, instead of saying 'Raise for National Anthem' I absentmindedly announced "School dispersed" followed by principal's scolding in front of the whole school. :)

JTG: I had a crush on a girl who was the inspiration for me to write poem. I was in school then and realised its not the right age to fall in love. :)? So decided to move away. [ The "Crush" msged him at 1:30 A.M when he was giving the interview. :) I don't know if he has really moved away ha ha.]

Movie Review : "2012"

I watched the movie "2012" today(18-11-09) in Sangam Theatre[Had few interruptions during the movie] in Poonamalle High Road. The movie was pretty good and worth watching. Especially the graphics and sound effects were extra ordinary. Even though the story line is not that great, you will never get bored all through the movie.

News:

Yesterday(16-11-09) was Prathik's b'day.

Today LIBA students visited IFMR campus for a program. Even though the program was lengthy, it looked like the guy was talking sense(n). ;) The best part was when the speaker asked to share their experience in the college to the IFMR students they said our professors are superb and they do everything for the students. They also said "In IFMR every student works really hard".

When LIBA students were asked about their experience in college our official photographer and 'CR'(I don't know why CR..is it something like CM post or something he he...Dude expecting a counter blog ha ha...Read CR's blog.) beautifully said that "In LIBA our students do all the activities including arranging conferences, club events etc. and we got excellent professors too. On top of the hard work we also have fun." Everyone started laughing. Good one 'CM' i mean 'CR' :). I don't think any IFMR student would have anticipated this response*. [Idea for the post : CR Venkat :) Thanx dude]

Adyar Ananda Bhavan, in sterling road.

Today I went to Anandha Bhavan to have snacks. It is a sweet & snack shop. You can sit inside and eat but mainly people buy and take home. Even though the ambiance inside(For sitting) is not that great they serve fresh and quality sweets. It's a bit high priced but worth the money. Ice creams were available only in the menu. :).

I had dinner in Viv's, a multi-cuisine restaurant in Harrington road(Near creamy-Inn).The place looks simple. Decent rates. Food is pretty good.

Gossip Column(Just for Fun)**:

You all should know about this guy who said the 'Three words' to a girl for four times and still didn't get a positive response. Now they have decided to be good friends.:). All should appreciate this guys guts. I am not sure how many people can express their feeling this firmly. Dude your never give up attitude is impressive. I think you had this feeling 'deep' inside. That's why you did not worry about 'a'll 'k'ind of non-sense people will be talking after your attempt. Your activities with "Dia/2" shows that you care for the society you live in unlike many. Hope you get the best if not this.

Operation students of LIBA recently visited TAFE, Chennai. TAFE manufactures tractors & Farm equipments. First the students were taken to the factory and then to the head office. In the head office they were explained about how SAP functions in their company. It was a very informative field trip. Operation students were explained how the marketing, finance, production and HR modules of SAP works. I think everyone should know about this latest technology as most of the companies are migrating towards enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle and so on.

Gossip Column(Just for fun)*:

The photo that "Hero Turned Comedian" was scared to share publicly. Why should he block the photograph? If you can find out who the guy is and wondering why he is named as "HTC" ask him what he got as b'day gift? He is a good badminton player and a decent Table tennis player. But 'at times' he will try saying wrong points to confuse you and uses sledging effectively. :)

Today one of my friend was saying that there is a boy living with a girl in kodambakam without getting married. I would like to give my viewpoint for and against "live-in relationship".

For Live-In relationship:
1. Both the people might enjoy living adventurously(Hiding from family) and its always good to live with an excitement. At least the initial phase will be rosy.

2. Its legal (Not very sure about state laws) as it's a consensual decision. Read somewhere that baby born to such couple is "Legitimate".

3. Marriage ceremony(Huge spending) is the only item missing if the couple are serious about the relationship.

Against Live-In:

1. Some argue that it spoils culture ? Their question is "Then what is marriage for?".

2. Relationship might fail easily due to the lack of legal, family & society pressure to stay together.

3. Hypocrites will over react as if you are committing a crime, while bad fellows can exploit the situation to have some fun and get away with it.

As suspected 'Next to D cell hostel room' wasn't a move towards liberalization. You know why? Check out the rules:

1. Never close the door. Why :)?
2. No table in the room. Why he he :-) ?
3. No cots in the room. hmmm...here we go :-) ?

Potential Rules?

1. Chair not allowed ?
2. Compulsory formals?
3. People should close their eyes while passing the room? ha ha :)
4. Guys should go out of the hostel if they see girls inside? ha ha ha
5. No plastic sachets allowed inside!!!!!! :)...(Don't imagine too much...its things like pickle,oil etc...)

Congratulations to the two people who got their summer internship yesterday. The guy and the girl seemed to have bagged the highest summer internship pay till date. Hope they use this opportunity to get pre-placement offer there.

Pizza Hut..Sterling Road....
Yesterday I went to Pizza Hut along with some friends for a birthday treat...Had few starters..some pizzas and desserts..Some items were tasty and others were 'ok'. You can go once in a while... You can book the place for parties. They will reserve seats for you if you inform them in advance. They will also create a party ambiance relevant to the occasion.

"Next to D cell" gets a room(G-14) in LIBA hostel. This looks like a welcome move towards 'liberalization'. This means even after Sandhya and Vaneesa goes back(They are currently staying in the guest room) to their hostel, girls will be visiting hostel. Funny part is shy guys will have to wear shirt every time they come out of their rooms.(Not me) ha ha. But I am sure they will all get used to the new atmosphere.

Much awaited "Pal-lan - Hunter's creation" story:

This Pal-lan is a finance guy. He has very good finance knowledge. He is in LIBA hostel since last year. He never comes out of his room for any reason other than going to college. Some say he has a confident and stylish walk because he moves his shoulders bit too much while walking. [It seems ok for me]. For me he is like every other guy but Hunter calls him Pal-lan. Pal-lan is a tamil word. I believe giving names based on appearance is not a right thing. People who have problems(Belly, baldness ,man boob's, zero stamina, less immunity etc.) are the one's who make fun of others on appearance. ;-) To be continued....

Is Truth ugly?

An Incident I wish to share - True love? - (Real)

Today is my 'dearest' friend's second year death anniversary. He died in a bike accident. Every time I think about this I get disturbed. He was a gem of a person who was God fearing, honest & meant no harm to anyone. Some would say its God's will. I don't know. May be. But this incident made two of his family members non-believers. They couldn't accept the concept of God after this incident. This not only shattered his family members but also his girl friend. I still remember the way she cried on his grave. She told me "I don't wanna live!". Her mom told me that some how she managed to stop her from ending her life. She almost cried for 2 months after his death. I went and met their family few months before. She seemed fine then but the scar remains.

We three studied in same class in U.G. I know for the fact that these two people had nothing in common but they loved each other. Cast, Religion, status couldn't stop them from loving each other. It wasn't a love that emerged out of a guy and a girl coming together after all their items in their check list** matched. They loved each other when they were nobody.

Even though the whole incident left so many questions in my mind, it reinforced the fact that "True Love" exist and you got to be gifted to be loved by someone.

What is a Check List?

A dialogue from the movie " Ugly Truth" - A movie with a good message but has too many F and C words. :)
Men/Women says they want "True Love", they want "Romance" but all they want is a **checklist.
Is he/she perfect?
Is he/she handsome?
Is he/she doctor?
For men/women who satisfy all this condition don't be so happy. These people are not loving you but they are loving carefully calculated checklist of their choices. Money over substance, looks over soul, polish over principles, no gesture how real or romantic will ever compensate for a really impressive list of credentials. ;)

That is the ugly truth folks. :)

Alister's b'day party happened in Pratap's, hotel @ the back side of our college. Everyone who was there enjoyed the party. (Reminder : cake cutting today(09-11-09) @ lunch break. Please everyone be there.)
Nivy cutting cake @ her b'day party. It happened @ her home along with her parents and friends. After some initial hesitation(Respect to elders) people started pulling each others leg and the whole party was filled with laughter. :) Lot of sweets, rose milk and water was served to all the friends.

People falling sick due to climatic change. Our buddy(In pic) here got wet in rain two days and got fever. Jijo is also sick.Pray for their speedy recovery.

There seems to be three "Make up specialist" guys in LIBA. This three people seem to have experimented with the combination of every possible cosmetics or appearance enhancing chemicals/natural items available. If you are looking to buy any cosmetics you should be consulting these guys :). They all stay in the same floor in LIBA hostel. More clues in the next post....

Insight 09' BIG event + Hitler Vs Nelson Mandela + Nivy & Sayuj's B'day

Insight '09, a BIG conference which had many leading industry people as speakers.

Conference Secretary 'Khusbhoo'. She and the guy below(Subbu) are the people who spearheaded the wonderful Insight team. I should say the team headed by these people worked tirelessly to organise this conference. I wanted to give a "Behind the screen" coverage of Insight but due to some reasons plan got scrapped. All the sleepless nights, perseverance and endless calling was worth it. Great job "Insight Team".
The guy fondly called as 'Subbu' who won the second best management student award in an all India B-school event(which include IIM students) in Mumbai representing LIBA. LIBA , also bagged three awards for best finance course among all the B-school in India, best B- school in nurturing young entrepreneurs* and third best placement brochure.

Ex-Satyam employee in the Insight conference drinking tea. Guess who this guy is. He and his friend likes taking their own photographs endlessly. Once I remember opening a folder which was in my laptop named 'Insight 08' and it was almost filled with these two guys pics(>30). :)
Jijo(HTC) being punished by sam for trying to snatch her phone. What was the photograph which was there in sam's phone that Jijo desperately wanted to delete? Is that a first year girl's pic????? Did sam transfer the pic to my phone? Answers soon :P

In my Perspective:

If you read history you will know that both Hitler and Nelson Mandela were aggressive in their leadership. Both of them had huge followers,loyalist in their respective countries. Both had a vision. But one bullied certain people using dictatorship & military power while other fought for the weak. If you ask me if I would have worked under Hitler(Hypothetically) just because he was talented and brought fame, the answer is "No". That does not imply I am scared. I will still be able to work under aggressive leaders like Nelson Mandela who had a greater cause in mind than just sheer arrogance.

NXD: For those thinking about joining LIBA but hesitant.....LIBA is the place to be, with a balance of hard work and a lot of fun. I used to miss my cushy job as a software engineer initially, but now I just don't want to leave LIBA! You will love it here.

Yesterday "Next to D cell" conducted a very useful seminar on "Legal aspects of starting a business" .Speaker Ms.Aarthi Sivanandh, Universal legal (http://www.rocketlawyer.com/profiles/view-profile-Aarthi+Sivanandh.aspx) gave a wonderful insight on the legal aspects that a entrepreneur should know before going for the venture.She was roped in by Fr.Christie,LIBA Director, the man who is instrumental in LIBA's recent Success(9th rank in India including IIM's & 4th rank in private institute).

This seminar would have been useful to everyone who has an idea of starting a business at some point of time in their life. Even as a manager these information will help you go up the ladder faster. I remember one of my distant relative who works with G.M,Pune as manager saying that he is going to learn the legal aspects of governing a firm so as to become an asset to the company.

I am sure the students in LIBA have far more potential than most of the business man who are successful. If you people can't start a business and be successful then who will?

This story starts in the train like in "Saathiya"(Hindi) or "Alaipayuthey"(Tamil). They travel together till St.Thomas Mount where the girl gets down. The guy goes till Tambaram having only one thing in his mind. When will we meet again. This story continues everyday. They ignore everyone else while sitting together. The guy owns a Karishma bike but he never brings it to college. The reason being..the train travel. See what all people can sacrifice for "Friendship" he he....Some people are jealous about this friendship....but they are the simplest & coolest "friends" of our batch*.

Every day I receive message about how big is Insight'09 event. Today while sitting in our mess few people were talking about the event and I couldn't resist listening. They were seriously discussing a strategy for getting all the food items that is going to be served during insight conference. One guy said "We should sit near the door so that as soon as the lunch break starts we can go and get every item they serve". Wow...look what is people concerned about...he he.... Come on people what about discussing about the big names that are going to be there in the conference.

According to our reporter one of the committed female(1st year) goes across the barrier to form a new alliance with 'X'(Clue:Read earlier blogs to know who is 'X').
