Today John Britto's & Anto (1st Years) are celebrating their b'days. Wish them.

The guys who can imitate lot of Tamil actors like T.R, Bhakhiya raj & so on, during karthikeyan's b'day party.


Karthikeyan's B'day party in which 21 of LIBA family members(1st & 2nd yr) were there. It was a wonderful party in alagappar restaurant, Tnagar. Its a deluxe hostel and food is tasty but expensive. The party was filled with jokes, lecture by B'day boy,mimicry by servite's pet boy, gossips about the people present there(Read gossip column). Karthikeyan also fondly called as 'Major" was entertaining everyone with his witty comments. Don't get deceived by his tough look. If you get a chance catch him off work. He can be one hell of an entertainer. Supposedly if he starts singing you can never stop him. :)
Convocation 2009 was headed by Shri.Venu Srinivasan,Chairman & MD TVS motor company. It started at 4 p.m. Highlights apart from the degree certificate distribution: LIBA theme song, National anthem Remix, LIBA video, LIBA history, Annual report and honouring former directors of LIBA. Cheerful moment : Basheer(1st yr) getting his part-time diploma certificate.


Mumbai 'shining' star taking an extra parcel of sweets after the 'convocation' . For whom?
There was surplus of snacks and sweets.
"Connected" committee's LIBA T-shirt for convocation. They refused to reveal about the T-shirt till the last day. I thought it was only meant for alumni. But they were trying to sell it to the current batch too. Whats up with the surprise launch? How many T-shirt's were sold?
Which are the two committees that are planning to come up with LIBA T-shirts?

Cricket match: current batch Vs Alumni . Our players(1st & 2nd yrs) batted first and set a target of 98 runs thanks to ("Ambulance designer & has the second name of Australian front-line pacer "midge or notch"),first year".The pace generated in the bowling by the alumni team was too much for our batsmen to handle. Alumni won the match with more than 2 overs to spare. Some supporters tried to cheer the team but no cheer could boost our batch guys game. Then those supporters(girls) started practicing outside the field. May be we should replace few of our 'big' players with these girls in the next match as those girls seems to have a pretty good technique like Rani mukherjee in Dil bole hadippa. :)
Guest Lecture which got cancelled. It will be conducted another day.

1. Second Year "Rock fort city" HR guy learning french
2. (Dia/2)'s secretary seems to be frequently visiting Library early in the morning to read newspaper. But there are rumours that the reason behind his visit has 'deeper' issues beyond reading newspaper.
3.The guy with the brand name of the famous suit company seems to be closely associated with 31.10.09(Clue : Answer lies in this post) for no clear reason.

One of our LIBA family member Sandhya(2nd Year) had fractured her leg few weeks back. Even though she hasn't recovered fully she started coming to college . Lets pray for her speedy recovery. Right now she is staying in LIBA men's hostel and her "close friend"? Rhys(b'day boy) is taking good care of her.

Today I went to "ChicKing" restaurant in Nungambakkam High Road for lunch along with friends. It is a decent fast food restaurant similar to KFC. Its cheaper than KFC but the taste of the chicken is not as good as KFC. Burger is ok. Ice cream is not that great. I had my dinner in "Kumarakom" restaurant, kodambakam high road. You get most of the kerala food there. Though the food was good, the number of customers were less than the number of employees till we left.

Tomorrow Binu(1st Year) and Karthikeyan(2nd Year) are celebrating their b'days. Wish them.

"Thumb impression" club is giving an opportunity for LIBA students to meet Ms. Vani Aiyer, Vice President - Client Servicing, JWT. JWT is a company to look out for any one who has little bit inclination towards advertising. It is going to be interesting to hear about the 'Relevance of MBA in advertising agencies' . Is 'Accounting' club fine? What are the activities that is happening there? Latest news is that they are planning to come up with a news letter soon. Apparently last time when the committee was called for there was only one member for the meeting other than the guy who gathered the meeting *.

Three clubs are planning to come up with LIBA T-shirts. One T-shirt will be available tomorrow during convocation for the alumni. According to reports "Connected" committee will arrange for more T-shirts if any one else is interested.*(Reporter HJ)

Two people from 'vital committee' are selected for summer internship in U.S.( A boy and a girl). The girl who got selected has found.......(Can't write anything more...Have a promise to keep)

LIBA's BPC registration is coming to an end on 30th October. 'Dia/2' successfully completes its first quarter. There is a review meeting on Friday 4 p.m headed by Prof.Anthuvan.

Story of 'Hunter':
He comes as an innocent fellow. He will smile at the 'prey'. If prey responds it is chosen. He wouldn't hunt immediately. He will put the trap without the prey realising it. During this process he will entertain the 'prey' with stories of other(only bad things) people. After sometime he will say good things about the prey. If the 'prey' falls for the bait he will attack. If the attack is unsuccessful he will move on to the next prey. He will bitch about the old prey to the new one to make sure she doesn't spoil the next hunt. Recently there are rumors that he has targeted someone *.

For those who missed guest lecture:
Today's guest lecture was a fun filled experience :).The speaker Mr. Vijay Kumar was a alumnus of LIBA. Guest lecture started off with an 'exiting' game which had a 'E-series Nokia' 'used' phone as prize. Only one contestant. The game was a total improvisation. Unfortunately there was no winner as the game was to give out a message 'Expect the unexpected'. :) :)

Section starts today....with a bang!!!Have you ever checked your name in the internet? If you have not I have...he he...Today I found one aspiring actor asking for chance. (Check the picture above..:)) Hope he gets a chance soon..Dude if you want to approach that actor go to thiruvanmiyur beach. He comes for jogging there. But dont post a reply to a post after 3 years. he he...I agree you have lot of talents. Wish your dream come true.

Clarification:

This happened long back. But I want to clear the air about the innocence of the servite's pet boy. There had been many missed calls from his mobile to a girl in asha nivas late in the night. God knows what all assumption were made. The truth is that his friends did it. They themselves confessed about it recently. So people before judging anyone know the truth. :)

Today a funny thing happened..the silent assassin himself came and asked me "Who is this silent assassin?" I couldn't say anything. He kept the assassinating smile throughout the conversation. He hardly speaks. Even if he does it will be way too intellectual for any other normal being to understand(Just kidding). He is a nice guy. He means no harm to anyone. You will enjoy working with him in a team.Relationship status: Committed and not looking for other options. :)

I had been to a service center in spencers plaza for one of my friends laptop repair. The shop keeper asked him to leave the computer for one day. Before handing over the computer I asked my friend "Did you delete the personal data in the laptop"?. He said 'No'. Is it important to delete data/hide using advanced software before giving it to a stranger? !!!!...As long as the servicing guy is your friend you can expose your personal data to him.Otherwise... It can me misused. Also if you people think that when you press Shift + delete all the data will be deleted...you are wrong..those data can be retrieved any time..:)...Its better not to store very sensitive info(You know what I mean) in your comp/lap which is connected to internet.

Events:
This time again about insight..behind the screen...one of the main guy is roaming around the Loyola campus at 10:30 in the night..to get speakers....he he....I hope his hard work pays off.....but it seems so 'different'.I thought there was a ghost standing in the dark with a phone...:)

Today I went to satyam theatre with some of my friends. Even though I didn't want to go I went for my friends. One incident that happened there made me re-think whatever I am doing with this blog. One of my friend called me and said "come here, fast". I stood there and asked what is it about? He replied saying two of our college friends(A Boy(2nd yr) & a girl(1st Yr)) are here for a movie!!! I asked him "So what?". He said "You got a story for your blog"..:). I could only laugh . I told him to leave them alone. My motive behind this blog is not to cover all this petty issues but it has a greater purpose. Now don't come and ask who are those two people..:)...
Event Updates:
Insight Committee is doing a good job "Behind the Screen" to get good speakers for the conference which is going to be held on November 5th & 6th. Few CEO's have already confirmed their presence for the conference. Spread the news about this conference through your friends. If you can share this news with one of your friend you might have spread the news to many. Hope Insight PR committee comes up with more creative things to make people realize how big the event is going to be.

Is Gossip wrong?

Gossip has been researched in terms of its evolutionary psychology origins.This has found gossip is an important means by which people can monitor cooperative reputations and so maintain widespread indirect reciprocity. Indirect reciprocity is defined here as "I help you and somebody else helps me". Today teddy bear boy's(Read the Teddy bear goes to beasant nagar post) computer had a 'love' wallpaper in his laptop. Is he really in love ? Question remains.

Also people who missed the guest lecture might be in trouble. There was a sting operation in the end to nail the people who missed guest lecture. There was a news that a friend who got summers in the second company which came on campus was approached by another friend from c-floor in LIBA hostel to go with him for shopping who said no saying " I am tired". Apparently that guy left alone and met the same friend with another girl from the same class in T-nagar.!!!

Yesterday I had been to hotel palm grove(Veg) for lunch with few of my friends. The lunch was good. Soup was taste less. I could feel the effect of A/c. Price was 'ok'. Then in the evening we went to creamy-Inn. I think most of our people from LIBA know this place. For those who don't know it is a place where you get good ice cream and is opposite to 'shoppers stop' in Harrington Road. I enjoyed the company of the friends with whom I went along. The display inside the creamy inn was 'different' from the normal menu display.

Today Akarshan & Niranjan Paul celebrate their b'days. Wish them now. :)

Also to 1st years who are attending the summer project interview and not getting selected don't get dis-heartened. Worrying about this is not going to help you in anyway. I am sure everyone will find a company to do their summers.

Today a guy who has English 'C' stream prof's second name in his name wore a Play boy T-shirt which got everyone's attention. Does this mean something? Is he making a statement? No one knows..I just know him as a down to earth and friendly person who spends most of the time travelling between servite and college for only 'one' reason.

Sapling left over from the JOG week plantation happened in the evening. The dead saplings were replaced with new ones. Thanks to the effort of the girl who has a common thing with '16th president of U.S' & co this good thing happened.

Prayer meeting was conducted @ 1:45 P.M by "Saint head" :). This happens every Tuesday.

Business plan competition entry deadline extended till 30th October. The event is going to happen on 27th November for the selected candidates and is organised by entrepreneurship club of LIBA.

Yesterday 1st yrs celebrated kiran paul's b'day. Birthday committee was not there. Apparently B'day committee celebrates birthday's for people who don't have many friends. Great work committee. Don't stop your good work with your section.
I heard that Kiran along with his friends are planning to visit chandigarh and few places nearby during the christmas vacation. Any of the first years who wants to join them contact him. Today at 2 P.M there is going to sapling plantation at the back of O.A.T. This is an effort to plant the left over saplings from JOG week. There are lot of mid-term exams lined up for 1st years. 'All the best' to all. The 'Green Shoots', intra college photography competition deadline has been extended to 23rd.

This is second time I am noticing frog sitting and enjoying in the water cooler. Hope it is not coming after 'swimming' inside the cooler. Also the sapling which were planted are dying without water. I saw the girl from mumbai, part of 'Vital Committee' and 'z' in her name and her friend pouring water to the saplings other day. It is a great thing to do. When we find time everyone of us can water at least one sapling or can 'adopt a plant'.

When many youth chase only sex and pleasure there are few people who concentrate on some form of creativity. Whatever field(Music, art, sports etc.) it is if they are dedicated to it and if I find them interesting I am going to blog about them with their picture and talent. This talent hunt has began. Once I identify the skilled people will interview them. I will publish the interview in this blog. Also I might help them build a interactive website to post their work and might also help in promoting the same if I have to{ I am not promising anything here but will definitely help you} . World,....if not world at least my blog readers should know about these talents. These people need to be promoted for the fact that they are different and they can contribute to our country or world. Prospects are identified already. If you genuinely feel you are talented and you need to leverage your talent to a different height send an email to knightrider2702@yahoo.in along with your picture{Its ok if you can't send picture}. This might seem trivial as I don't have much of followers but you might get lucky. Why not give it a shot when you know you are not going to lose anything? Let at least your peers know about your talent and passion. May be if they appreciate it many others might as well like your talent.

Wonderful celebration it was....on the eve LIBA looked beautiful by all the lights and rangoli. Many people who were in town came for the function. It started with a pooja. Then there was sweet distribution. There was plenty of sweets for everyone. Fire crackers were bursted. [Oops sorry environment]. One person from west bengal(1 st yr) who resembles 'Laughing Buddha'[Sorry couldn't think of anything else] injured his hand while trying to do some bravado with a fire cracker and had to meet the doctor even though it was a minor injury *. This buddy also happens to be the 'Friend' of Arista head'. There was a desi DJ who played music while everyone was 'trying to dance'. I stayed away from this 'Jam' :) session as I had to leave for geoffrey's after the function. Around 8:30 p.m the function was over and I along with few friends moved to Geoffrey's. Geoffrey's is in Radha Reagent, Koyambedu. It has good ambience and a pool table. Music is good. Good Service. Worth a visit.

Hunter is back...The guy from city of spirit does it again..

The guy from city of spirit also fondly called as 'Hunter' seemed like he has gone into oblivion lately but now he is back. Yesterday the news that he has attacked[Bitched about] one of the 'vital' committee and its members broke during a discussion. The 'Vital' committee head was damn angry with this news. In fact the vital committee 'head' was praising this folk before this news broke. The consequence of this might be only felt 3 or 4 months from now. It looks like 'Theory of connecting dots'[Refer 1st post] is in the process of being proved.

Happy DIWALI to all my blog readers. On the festival of light and joy i would like to thank my blog followers and readers for motivating me to write this blog. Your comments are valuable and keep it coming.

As not everyone would be able to get the whole libarated video and for people who missed the event I am planning to pick the best part of the event in both 08 & 09 and upload the videos and pictures. I am sure you all will enjoy it. Wait for it...editing in process.

There is going to be a diwali celebration at 6:00 P.M for all those who cannot go home for celebrating diwali. You need to fill the interest check form send to groups. People who are in chennai please be there to celebrate with our friends. Remember how much ever difference we have we are all one family(LIBA). Celebration will have snacks,DJ and crackers bursting. Even though I don't buy the idea of bursting crackers to celebrate, I understand it is our tradition. But it would be great if we find an alternative for crackers soon(Mother earth can't take too much of pollution).

"Green Shoots" Intra college Photography competition - Insight internal PR initiative.

There was a rumour that the person who is from YSR reddy's place ,taken HR, 2nd year has taken a 3 feet tall teddy bear doll to the besant nagar beach for some reason *. Some suspect that the doll has reached RBI residence in besant nagar. I am not sure how aunthentic this story is so I have put the aestrick next to the news.

"LIBA saint" has got a new 'Youth' look. When interviewed he gave the reason off the record. So can't disclose it. Do check the saint's new look.

There is a intra college Photography competition called 'Green Shoots' conducted by Insight committee as a part of intra college PR exercise. Do participate in it. Each contestant can send 3 photos to insight09.pr@gmail.com latest by 19th october. The photo should have green colour. I will upload the poster soon.

Today the girl who has metal 'Aurum'(Chemical name) in her name celebrated her b'day with friends and Birthday committee members.

Football has become the latest sensation among 1st years. Today there were 16 of them on the ground. I am happy to see people interested in the game I am passionate about. :)

People don't curse me too much for having gossip column along with the regular updates of events in LIBA. All gossips stands null & void until unless proved. It is not ment to hurt anyone. And I don't cook any of the stories up.

What a response.....Hurray....."Brand Hunt" was a great success. I should appreciate everyone who organised and participated in the event. Overwhelming response. The event attracting more than 100 people was awesome and most of them enjoyed the event. There was a little confusion in the end but otherwise the event was superb. First time in the history of club events there was so much excitement and participation. The man behind this event who heads "Thumb Impression" needs to be applauded. Various committee can learn the PR techniques from the "Thumb Impression" PR committee which spread the awareness in record time. The unorthodox method will definitely come handy at the time of crisis. Core members of the 'circle' decided to stay away from the event(esp. 2nd yrs)*. I should thank Henry for entertaining people today before the brand hunt by singing a four line punjabi song(Inspiration from Punjabi gal from servite).

Tomorrow their is going to be b'day celebration by the b'day committee for the girl whose name has precious metal attached to it. This occasion will also mark the official launch of new committee known as "Secret Committee". According to one of our reporter no one will know what happens within the committee and what are their activities.

Brand hunt by "Thumb Impression"club is similar to treasure hunt. Simple & popular brands are at times not so easy to find when you are given a time constraint. If you are the quickest you get Rs.1000. The team of 3 0r 4 need to be sharp and are allowed to use any help. Try google, phone a friend etc. to crack the clues.

LIBArated - A 'killer' experience + Akash's Bash day

Every expectation was delivered in LIBArated(Shriekfest), intra-college cultural fest of LIBA. A fun filled event. I am sure everyone enjoyed it. The spirits summoned weren't seem like they were from hell. Effects of Coffins, mummies & skeletons were made null by the joy that was brought by every program in the event. Fashion show was simply amazing. Especially the one by first years. They deserve the first place. Choreography for the fashion show by the 1st yr gal whose name sounds like precious metal should be applauded for her creativity. Dance competition was won by second years. They did a excellent job as a team. Sam & co could have done something different. Even though their performance was superb i could see last years traces in their dance. First years dance was in line with the theme. They have got many dancing talents in their team.Both the bands(Radioactive three-eyed fish & On the rock) rocked the show. Even those technical difficulties couldn't take the sheen of the show. I loved most of the songs. Singing Competition solo winner : Kavitha. Group singing Winner: Arun & Jennifer. Saint of 2nd year & Gal with MJ's(King of Pop) sisters first name did compering exceptionally well. Circle worked really hard to organize the fest. Hats off to them.

Yesterday was Nina Roby's b'day. Today(12.10.09) is Akash's birthday. Don't forget to wish(Please don't kick him any more he has got enough) him.

Operation club 'Arista' was launched today. I went pretty late for this program but let me share what I noticed at the end of the program. In the vote of thanks there was a special mention about a non-selfish, non-bitching(he he) second year who has found a 'friend' in the first year recently. The speaker also mentioned about the same 2nd yr hitting him and his friend with a 'ruler' for getting operational club related work done. Under such able leader I am sure Operation club will become the best club in LIBA :).
I hope the number of clubs and committees equal the number of students studying soon so that everyone can become a leader.

LIBArated09 shriekfest - If you are scared of darkness stay away

Theme : Shriek fest

Darkness and vampire are waiting to haunt you. Few people are going to have a first experience of their after-life :). Spirits have been summoned.

Preparation for the LIBArated 09 is happening in a big way. I see zombies and coffin's everywhere in LIBA campus. No one seems to be laughing. The mood is set. All eyes are on the cultural event about to happen tomorrow evening. Everyone be there to experience the horror.

Finally the suspense is over. Connect, the LIBA alumini news letter got released by Mr. Ramesh Nayar M.D, JLLM .I appreciate the people who worked hard to get this newsletter up and running. The function was planned and executed to perfection he he..Prof. refusing to address the gathering after M.C asking to do so...Chief guest going on distributing the Newsletter to all the audience i mean guest..those who missed the function missed so much fun. I should agree if all the function and guest lecture are gonna be so entertaining then no one will miss these things. Talking about guest lecture Kiruba, the passionate blogger kept the excitement throughout his speech. I enjoyed every bit of it. "Where the hell is matt's wife video" didn't seem very appropriate but can be taken lightly. Jalaja, writing her blog and earning pocket money out of that is a news. Congratulations to all the three who got their summer internship. Our Hero Henry has stunned everyone during the G.D by stopping the proceeding for his friend to speak. I heard even the moderator couldn't hold himself from laughing. If you get to meet him do ask him to introduce himself in a formal way. I am sure you will enjoy it. Make sure you have enough time to listen to it. They use "Words, accent & ideas" to destroy the opponents. :).
One piece of advice to all the summer interns prospects. "Don't worry too much about getting summer placement through college. Let not this process reduce your confidence level. It is not worth so much worry".The important thing is to learn where ever you are. Also getting summers through your own contacts has its own pros.
The Pros are
1. Can negotiate with the company regarding what you want to learn from the company.
2. Can easily get good grades from the company.
3. Can escape some of the killer projects like "Pure Sales", "Endless project", "Pure survey without emphasis on analysis"
4. Can get to stay @ home if you can get the project some were near your place.
